In 2023 I think there was 10 opportunities to watch a super rugby game for an average crowd of 11k
RL had over 200 opportunities for an average of 20k.
There is no domestic marketable product to be sold.
No wonder international Union is popular.

Back in the late 80s when I was finishing school, I can remember people saying that they’d prefer to watch a good Schoolboy game over an international.
Bush footy and especially Union has a certain feel to it, maybe Union is an example of a sport that is more representative of a culture.
They have certainly done their absolute best to totally screw the game at international level by ignoring virtually every other tier

There is a very solid team that can be selected, pick a side to play to a game plan and give them a chance.
They need a attacking option outside of the Panthers Fatigue Model, works at club but doesn’t translate to well to Origin 👍

What is the NRL era ?
It’s the period of time since the NRL was established in 1998. In order to classify things you need a time reference. Otherwise you would be comparing WG Grace, Bradman and Smith off the same metric. 👍
