The International Rubbish Board get it wrong again

No Jeremy it doesn’t. If it was voted for by all political representatives then you could say it is a reflection upon Australia as a whole. But thank god we are not all so narrow minded and have political parties such as the Green party who are willing to vote against such policies and speak for us Australians who are not represented by the two largest parties.

You’re point about classifications are historical and not current Jeremy. What point are you trying to make Jeremy? This policy has long been changed for the better and has no bearing on current politics or policies. Digging up historical points makes no sense at all. It’s like bringing up past South African, US or European policies which have long since changed for the better.

And the Intervention, again Jeremy was put in place by a political party, that not everyone voted for and is still being supported by a political party, that again, not everyone voted for. They do not represent my views, and there will be many millions of Australians with the same view.

I do not have ‘a terrible relationship with their Indigenous people’ as has been stated above. I have Indigenous friends and colleagues, and I find it completely offensive for people who think it’s ok to simply wrap everyone up in one package and think they’re all the same.

But you are right about one thing Jeremy. This is a sport website, it is not the place for this type of discussion.

The Haka is cultural, I can agree with that. But how is performing the haka prior to a rugby union match cultural? Even calling it traditional is a bit of a stretch when it hasn’t actually been performed before every test for all that long.

And please, leave out the ‘Australians have a terrible relationship with their Indigenous people’. Australians as whole do not have a terrible relationship. Some Australians do and some Australians do not. Just bundling us all up in one big bag, slaps of biggotry, and indicates you do not in fact ‘know’ about our relationships and I’ll bet my bottom dollar all you actually ‘know’ about our affairs is what you see on current affair programs and have never actually experienced any first hand Australian cultural experiences with our Indigenous peoples.

I suggest you also take abit of your own advice and ‘try to understand a people’s culture before offering an opinion on it.’

Brett, watching the clip below, it looks to me that all the french crossed the halfway line and were a few metres over.

A couple of AB’s also croassed the 10m line.

France slapped with ridiculous haka fine

You’re spot on.

The league players have no experience in the rucks, mauls or scrum. They would get penalised to death, if they weren’t already off the field with neck and back injuries.

Wallabies vs Kangaroos hybrid game: why?

Shockingly the IRB have fined the French $15000 for advancing on the precious Haka.

What a joke.

I thought a team was supposed to reply to a haka? Why should the French just have to stand there whilst the AB’s psych themselves, and their home fans up even more?

If anything it added to the tension of the final and added something that was needed for an opposing team going into such a huge test. They stepped over the line, SO WHAT? Brad Thorn steps over the line just about everytime he performs the Haka. Why hasn’t he been fined everytime he has done this?

Advancing on the Haka made a statement. The French were not there to play tiddlywinks. They were there to win the cup and they weren’t going to let the AB’s waltz through the test like many of the supporters had suggested by writing the French off.

I hope the French dig in their heals and refuse to pay up. If the AB’s, and the pacific nations, can perform their little routine before a test then so should all the other teams be able to reply as they seem fit.

Right and proper end to 2011 Rugby World Cup

It is TOS. Which is my point. The same happened in the France v Brazil Football world cup, with the ref in that sport also too scared to blow his whistle against the home side. And yes it happened to the AB’s when they played France in 07.

I think they get over-awed by the home team fans.

I don’t believe for a second there was any kind of directive. I’ve read some silly comments some have made about conspiracies to let the aB’s win, but that’s a load of rubbish.

'We can rest in peace', says RWC-winning coach, Graham Henry

Not taking anything away from the AB win, but I thought Joubert was too scared to blow his whistle against the AB’s in the second half. Too worried about being blamed of ruining the WC final.

In the last long phase play by the French, the AB’s were constantly getting warned to ‘release’ but kept lying all over the ruck, not releasing the player, and Joubert let it go on. Could the French score a penalty from 40 odd metres out in the corner? Who knows, but it would of been good to see them try.

I’m pretty sure they pulled off the same play a few years ago against the Wallabies. Good play, well done.

Take note Deans. Sometimes top teams use tactics and set plays to score tries.

All Blacks special move works wonders

WQ, How do you know he’s a Wallaby supporter? I really, really, really hope he’s not as I would like to think that a Wallaby supporter wouldn’t be that much of a tool.

All Blacks beat France to win Rugby World Cup

People only remember the winners Pat.

Besides, why shouldn’t the AB’s and Kiwi’s celebrate? They played to the ref’s rulings and they won.

Congats AB’s.

All Blacks beat France to win Rugby World Cup

They did go to gem, but do you think they would do that with the origin or league world cup?

Congrats AB’s.

I don’t understand how in the last 5mins the ref could keep constantly have to tell the AB’s to release the player and not give a penalty, but hey, a wins a win right.

Welcome to the double champ gang.

The French performance in this second half is like nothing they’ve done in this comp.

AB’s are a little rattled.

BAB – ‘How long has it been since wallabies won bill.’

Half the time since the AB’s won Bill.

Too many whiney Kiwis at the moment

I’m so glad people like Sydfella don’t represent the mainstream.

Best wishes, Wallabies - from the Kiwis

Salada, I doubt Cooper will be on the trip so Barnes would be the next choice 10

At last an Eden Park win for the bronzed Wallabies

It would hurt if it actually meant something to Wallaby fans. What many of the AB supprters who keep trotting out that line seem to ignore is that most of us Wallaby supporters didn’t expect our team to win the WC every tournament. Our governments didn’t spend a small fortune on celebratory parades that never happened, and our expectations are set on realistic goals.

I think people such as BAB need to be asking themselves why it took 24 years to win a second WC rather than trying to use a pointless barb on Wallaby supporters.

Too many whiney Kiwis at the moment

actually, I’ll retract that comment. I’m not going to get into that can of worms
