I would give anything to see Peter Siddle's hatrick in the flesh again, I would give anything to see the Lions first premiership in the flesh and the moment the Reds destroyed all competition to claim the title in 2011 blew me away. Nothing compares to sport. Not even kittens or puppies.

haha mate, the only money I had was for an equal trade with Varcoe, not much in the piggy bank. Who would be a good substitute for Merrett around his money? He’s definitely my weakest link

AFL Fantasy Round 9: The Final Call

I got rid of Patton for Varcoe. Needed to happen!
I’m was thinking Dan Merritt was going to be a good option with Brown taking most of the heat up forward but it just hasn’t panned out that way. Should I persist or look elsewhere?

AFL Fantasy Round 9: The Final Call

Clearly delusional. Louder than Eric Paartalu’s equaliser then coming penalty shoot-out win? Stop having a laugh.

I guess you must have forgotten how loud it was, that or just wasn’t there.

A-League decider was the best atmosphere Suncorp has seen

Jon Holland was being considered for international selection at the beginning of last year before his shoulder surgery setback. Doherty has no chance to retain his spot if Holland continues his current form. He’s got turn, he’s got dip, he’s got variation, he’s on fire and deserves a call up. Pressure will be put on Lyon for the test spot as well if Holland impresses considerably with the ball in first class.

Ryobi Cup wrap: the winners

Oh Andrew, how great would sport be if everyone was so jolly about losing?

I hate the way England play Test cricket

ASHES: Talking points from Lord's, after Australia fail again

One of the best comments on this topic and I agree wholeheartedly. Well said Matt.

ASHES: DRS done wrong kills cricket

It couldn’t just be “Dave” could it?

How do you measure gouging, sneaky slaps and niggles? Possibly even a banter-meter?

My Australian XI for the first Ashes Test

……..The man can’t rely on form he had two years ago. Cast your eyes past your affair with UTK, who else would you choose?

With Lehmann in is Khawaja next?

I won’t lie, this would please me. What do you think of the following Red Kev? Rogers, Cowan,Hughes, Clarke, Smith (Who’s your submission for the final batting spot?) and the rest can sort itself out because bowling isn’t really the issue.

With Lehmann in is Khawaja next?

I’m all for this Brett. The man can’t rely on form he had two years ago. Its about the now, scenario hence Roger’s selection. Reputations are for wannabes, the real batsmen make runs whatever the situation.

With Lehmann in is Khawaja next?

I heard Cutting is pretty handy with a golf stick?

With Lehmann in is Khawaja next?

I’m with jayvan. A coach picks the team that will win, not one that will make him feel comfortable. If he wanted to be comfortable he’ll be coaching his son Jake. Another question, why is he unlucky? What makes his shield campaign better than Hughes, Smith and Rogers for that matter? Everybody needs to stop jumping on his bandwagon and when he can overtake a retired has been a la Ponting in the sheffield shield this year, thats when I’ll take notice. Talent needs to equal success, not just be possessed and promise success.

Brisbane Lions playing for coach Voss

Pat Cummins is merely there to keep up his treatment regime, but I feel CA has backflipped (pardon the pun) and have him in the mix to bowl in some upcoming matches. If he breaks down again he better find another career, he clearly doesn’t have the body built for speed. I completely agree with needing a re-focus and even more-so the need for firm leadership. Now I’m not one for bringing back the oldies but as Ponting has clearly shown recently in the county competition against the Duke ball, he. can. bat. That is a damn sight more than what our current crop albeit Clarke have shown. I feel this time around Ponting will value this Ashes series as if it will be the death of him, he wont be scratching at the crease for his place, he’ll be scratching for his honour, scratching to have his name etched into the Ashes history books. We are fools for not bringing him into the fold, maybe he can be the one to give Warner a bit of his own medicine. It all starts with culture, and unfortunately Australia doesn’t have any, the least we can do is try to inject it by bringing Ponting in. (Injecting things seem to be all the rage at the moment, just ask Cronulla)

Cricket Australia's consol-'A'-tion prize for the second XI?

And Warners “lapses” have been better?

Did Bailey run himself out of the Ashes?

gotta love a copy and paste hey oikee?

Every play was nullified. In taking their ineffectiveness into account and as a Queensland supporter, the rankings are more than fair. You have high expectations because they are stars of the game and when they look lost, you have no option but to rank them quite low. There was no flair about Queenslands game, something which as brought them a lot of success.

The Roar Origin special: Ryan and Brett's player rankings

Seconded. Parker was easily the only person playing with enough heart to break the line and make sensible offloads.

Cam Boyce is only touted because he is the only serious leg spinner in our first class competition (valid for Australian selection, no disrespect old mate Afghan), we seriously haven’t seen anything he has to offer and with an average of 46.45, it’s looking increasingly unlikely he’ll go on for further honors. He struggles for a game as Queensland would rather opt for second class offspin pies from the batsmen. This kid needs a decent go for a full season. He needs a captain that will back him and sadly that won’t happen in Queensland and especially on pitches that are not conducive to spin.

The future of Australian cricket

How many “under the table” hints and tips have been provided over the years by the Waterhouse’s? I think that’s the biggest question everyone should be asking now.

Racing’s left to rot after guilty Waterhouse cops just $5500 fine

Mate….. Shane is spot on. That would just be unreal! I feel the whole subculture of people on bicycles not wanting to be weekend warriors with 24 different options would use these events as stepping stones into the bigger picture, I can really see it taking off. Chandler velodrome is already a viable option for the people of Brisbane and after going on a trial ride with the UQ track squad I’m sure they would love to see more people heading along. Imagine Friday night velodrome racing under lights with a part atmosphere?! Heaven really.

Why is track cycling the ugly, more boring step-sister?
