Quiney should have been brought in at number 5 in between Ponting & Hussey with Clarke batting 3. Clarke is the best batsman and should be batting 3 now Ponting has been shuffled down to 4. My view is Ponting shouldnt be in the team any longer but that is not the case so I no need to go on about that. Khawaja should be in there for Ponting and probably Phil Hughes in test cricket in place of Warner who should be left to play the limited over and 20/20 cricket.

Batting Quiney at 3 was a cruel mistake

Great article but as a batsman No. Ask any international bowler if they would prefer to bowl to Kallis than Lara or Sachin and I know the answer. But his bowling and his batting packaged together is sensational. He would be the first all rounder I would throw into my team without doubt.

Kallis is more valuable than Ponting, Tendulkar

Thanks for your opinion on who is where in NBA history 🙂 I wrote an article on my view, simple as that. Moving on!

LeBron James will surpass Jordan

melo-drama….Thanks for reading & the comment.

LeBron James will surpass Jordan

Just send on the nufti’s like Joel Anthony and foul him and send him to the stripe. Only way of slowing him down. LOL

2012/13 NBA season previews: Los Angeles Lakers

Bring on the season!!

The most anticipated NBA season?

After Harden being traded to OKC I believe Lakers will make the NBA finals! Some great additions, however I dont think they will beat the Heat in a 7 game series this season. I think if Lakers keep the same guys next year and a season to learn to play together then they should win it all.

Everyone in team sports even if you are the leader need help. 1 on 5 just isnt going to work in the NBA. Jordan had his help over the years. Pippen, Rodman, Paxson, Kerr, Kukoc helped out over his championships at some stage. LeBron had Wade & Bosh but I wouldnt say he had too many other consistent helpers last season. That’s why in my article I stated that if Ray Allen, Bosh, Wade actually stay healthy this season, LBJ may be tough to beat yet again. Jordan is the greatest of all time in my opinion but LBJ has achieved more to this age in his career than Jordan. So as my article stated the next 10 years will be interesting to see if he is able to stay healthy and chase him down. And Yes LBJ will need help to win titles. I have many many Jordan DVD’s & games and will always be a massive fan but I can see LeBron possibly surpassing him in 10 years time. All these opinions have made great reading 🙂

LeBron James will surpass Jordan

LOL, Awesome response Ryan!

LeBron James will surpass Jordan

Yep, Spurs will be right up there again!

2012/13 NBA season previews: San Antonio Spurs

He was right out of the top shelf!! LOL

LeBron James will surpass Jordan

LeBron made his first Finals appearance 6 years ago when he was 21 or 22 years old and Jordan made and won his first at 28. The fact LeBron got his team to the NBA finals through his performances in that year with Cleveland was amazing! Scoring all but one of his teams last 30 points not enough to impress? His stats in the NBA finals were slightly down and his NBA finals in 2011 will always be a sticking point but what he is achieved at his age is a great start. What he does in next few years will be telling in getting close or surpassing MJ.

LeBron James will surpass Jordan

Good preview. However, none of these teams will get near the Heat who have the monkey off their back and improved bench shooters. As long as they stay healthy, Will win the Eastern Conference without doubt. But beating the team to come out of the West will be a big challenge.

NBA Atlantic Division Preview

As a batsman I 100% agree but obviously Waugh was a great slipper and handy bowler.

Damien Martyn: Gone but not forgotten

Anthony Davis. Not much else about that should trouble him for award. Going with the US team would have helped Davis too!

Who will win 2012/13 NBA Rookie of the Year award?

Australian selectors need to pick a squad and stick with them & not chop and change. Phil Hughes deserves a lengthy stay in the team to build a career but I am unsure whether they will drop Cowan yet. As far as Hussey changing his technique for the pitched up ball, I doubt that will happen as he is nearly 40 isnt he? I fear that Ponting may come unstuck against the hostile bowling of Steyn & Morkel which could and should be the end of his career. Then give a few younger guys a decent amount of time to get some runs.

Australia's batting lineup for first Test

Putting it simply, Miami Heat will win championship if they are injury free come June. Bet against LeBron at your peril! The Western Conference will be more fun to watch come playoff time. I am looking forward to seeing who will win out in the Wild Wild West.

2012/13 NBA season previews: Miami Heat

I have been playing first grade on the Maitland/Newcastle & central coast for many years. But have moved to Sydney now & don’t have the time to keep playing. Enjoying my free time now.

Selector Inverarity hints at no spinner for the Gabba Test

Heat will win the East with ease IF there are minimal injuries to their key players. West will be interesting with Lakers,OKC & Spurs. Western conference playoffs will be great to watch as will NBA finals between the Heat and whoever can put it together in the playoffs out of those 3. I would love to see Heat v Lakers but OKC will be tough to toss again.

2012-13 NBA season preview

Kersi,
Great article. I just hope that the selectors stay consistent and don’t chop and change. Stability is important!
You wouldnt remember, but I actually stayed at your home back when I was a teenager to play cricket against your son in a cricket carnival when I was in a rep team from Dubbo. Hope all is well!

Selector Inverarity hints at no spinner for the Gabba Test

Great read Ryan!
The only thing standing in the way of the Heat winning the Eastern conference again is injury! Just when we thought we could see a few further years of OKC v Miami, the Lakers go and nab Nash & Howard. Lakers v OKC would be awesome to watch with the winner taking on Miami! I think the Heat will be mighty hard to stop if Injury free and now LBJ has monkey off his back he will only get better. Bring on the season.

NBA Season 2012/13: In the midst of another golden era

Replicate the NBA and their structure around games. Seems to work!

NBL must kill off in-game music

We were certainly robbed of a great battle for a few more years between Schumi & Senna by his death.

Thanks for the memories, Michael Schumacher

Agree, should be a stand alone race! And how the Great Mark Skaife is unable to drive in the enduro races is a joke considering he has many years ahead where he can be competetive. Just because he sits on the board doesnt mean he shouldnt be able to sit in a car and drive two weekends a year. Let the fans watch the best drivers!

Cathos, can’t agree with you more Re 5 set matches for the women. Equal play = equal pay I say.
