Don’t forget dragons have just won 2 games in a row! After the run we’ve had of late I’m chalking that up as a dynasty.

Paradox of parity: NRL craves a level playing field but fans love to hate a dynasty like Penrith’s undisputed reign

NRL News: Warriors sign rookie Jett, Topine sues Dogs for $4m over 'psychiatric injury' from wrestling punishment

Very proud of the dragons against the warriors. Unlike other wins they have had, this was a completely earned win. Great to see the saints play competitive football and stick to a game plan. Hopefully that win builds more belief for them. I do hope blake Laurie steps up for Anzac day. He has been a shadow of his former self this year and I’m not sure if his type of play fits in with the coaches overall game plan.

NRL Round 7 Talking Points: With big wins come big losses, and which coach is the game’s biggest sook?

Hetherington is proof that time travel is possible. You can’t tell me he hasn’t come from 40 years ago and been transplanted into the nrl. He is a prop forward stuck out of time. Clingy to his old grubby ways seemingly oblivious to the fact that cameras capture everything. Sometimes people get nostalgic for the old ways of rugby league but I think the lazy rubbish we see from him is a detriment to his own team and only goes to serve as a stark reminder of how far the game has cleaned itself up

'Crazy scene in the tunnel': Hetherington in strife after scuffle outside sheds, Ponga hobbled as Dogs flog Knights

For incidents like this, it’s a no win. Whatever the punishment handed out is almost like saying this is the penance for racism. 8 games and all is forgiven. If it was just a comment in the heat of the moment followed by actual remorse I think 8 games would feel about right. But all the carry on post match and all while in America (the most racially charged country in the world) representing the game as well? I think 8 games is very light. There must be a stupidity loading that has to be applied for cases like this. Beyond the racism he bought the game into disrepute and should have coped time for that as well. He should consider himself lucky. I’m sure if he returns in monster form and chooks are flying, the short and forgiving memories of rugby league will sweep this whole episode under the rug. This incident really has soured a great opening round/s of footy.

'I am really sorry': Leniu cops HUGE ban as NRL judiciary hands down verdict for ‘monkey’ racial abuse at Mam

Fun one to watch for a dragons fan. RFM had a great game and looked very damaging with every hit up. Liddle was my motm though. He really had a cracker of a game. His one on one strip play was an example of the energy and intent he played with. Flano Jnr at 6 does free up hunt and Lomax on the wing does cut out his low percentage plays significantly. All in all if dragons can maintain this mindset and intensity I’ll be a much more pleasant person to be around after each round of footy.

Flanno trumps Des as Sloan fires Dragons to statement win over Titans

AJ is an out and out footballer. Regardless of what number is on his back, he will be a handful for the dragons.

NRL News: Vegas TV ratings barely a blip on US radar, Leniu tightlipped over racism row, Brimson not stoked about switch

Gutho, Drinkwater and teddy? How bizarre.
JAC probably should have been dropped for literally anyone else. Is Daniel Tupou unavailable? I’d feel safer at both ends of the field with him on one of the wings

Blues Origin III team: Fittler going down swinging the axe as besieged coach chops and changes in bid to save his skin

I am a dragons fan but I am also a Ben hunt fan. He has put in some very hard yards with the red and whites and always played his ring out despite those around him not putting in. He will go down as a champion player for me no matter how this all pans out. I find it funny that the same fans who want the NRL to intervene and make him stay are likely the same fans who gave him such a hard time when he first came across because “he was paid too much by the dragons and not living up to his wage”.

Freddie’s Cooked: How tactical blunders, selection mistakes and a failure to learn doomed the Blues boss

Looks like NSW is in the market for a new coach for ’24. Who are the potential candidates? I hope they don’t think Joey is the cab off the rank. Toovey maybe?

Freddie’s Cooked: How tactical blunders, selection mistakes and a failure to learn doomed the Blues boss

Perhaps coaching the dragons will be an additional punishment for Flanagan. I am somewhat relieved that Hornby and young have been spared the poison chalice that is this coaching appointment. They don’t need this job so early in their careers.

Why Dragons' controversial call to put faith in Flanagan could turn fortunes around but also blow up in their faces

Agree with these ratings. Especially Cleary. I can’t believe that considering Walsh was a debutant fullback Cleary didn’t once put up one of his floating specials to truly test his Walsh’s nerves.

Superstar poses no threat, enforcer gets only 30 minutes, playmakers struggle: Blues player ratings

Tpj played exactly as you would expect. Lazy penalties and silly offloads. Don’t know what Freddie thought he would do.

This is such an accurate description.

ANALYSIS: Queensland's outside backs won them the game - because Brad Fittler does not learn

So, if Ryan carr wins a few games, his name will be right up there with others? The board will then sign him to 6 year deal?

Dragons board sacks Griffin as wooden spoon fears grow but club claims season can be salvaged

McLennan delivers salary cap sledge, claims Roosters' treatment of Suaalii is 'nothing short of horrible'

The number 9 role is something the dragons really need to fix. Mbye is not even a back up hooker let alone a starting one. Liddle is the best option yet he had to wait 50 minutes to get on the field. Dragons need to improve the dummy half stocks and invest in someom more depth with specialist dummy halves.

ANALYSIS: Victor the victim of 's--t decision' in Roosters Anzac win - but Suaalii's defence lets him down

Roosters got dudded by the ref? That’ll do me.

Tedesco extending deal into 2025 puts ball in Suaali'i court in Roosters' bid to solve long-term fullback riddle

I did like that the ref held his ground when gutho tried to get play stopped by feigning a head injury. He did come across looking like a dill in the end. But if players try to milk so blatantly, I wouldn’t mind a HIA being enforced automatically – may stop milking of serious head injury?

ANALYSIS: Storm prove why they're Round 1 masters - by taking nothing for granted in gritty Parra win

I was watching channel 9 and didn’t clock any “confirmation pending” after tries being scored. I was hoping it was done away with. Having said that, I was having to give a fair chunk of my attention to my wife as she told me how her day was, so I easily could have missed it.

ANALYSIS: Storm prove why they're Round 1 masters - by taking nothing for granted in gritty Parra win

Yeah, i can imagine the more lazy teams turning the game into a slog to watch

ANALYSIS: Storm prove why they're Round 1 masters - by taking nothing for granted in gritty Parra win

This felt refreshingly like a pre-pandemic game to me. no bunker intervention. Great. I must have missed a bit because I really wasn’t across the new rules/interpretations. Am I right in thinking that there is no more waiting for the bunker confirmation on tries? If so, good. Although the game was fast it seemed like way less six agains as well despite the stricter behind the 10 interpretation. I assume this held/release implementation caused for less opportunity for holding down tackles and therefore less 6 agains? While I don’t like how much the NRL has tinkered with rules, I think I liked last night’s game better than anything in 2022.
