Why am I not suprised !!.

How many will turn out for Socceroos farewell match?

Do the all whites do a haka and is it as frightening as the real one ?.

How many will turn out for Socceroos farewell match?

Who gives a toss about some Indian soccer player (dime a dozen), the thread was about the AFL, a Indian Australian rules footballer would be much more exotic to follow.

As Kurt said, surely you should be analysing the group of death in the w/c

International AFL finally goes more mainstream

For gods sake, the w/c is donkeys years away, AD has said the AFL support it, what more can he do.

The AFL has not been serious about international expansion at all, even now most O/S work is done by amatuer football lovers who happen to be in a country for work etc.

It ios only really the last couple of years they have paid any attention to it, and they have not put really any huge amounts of money in.

The biggest advances would be footywild in SA, PNG and AFL QLD working together and two new international teams for the under16 champs.

Use WC to showcase AFL to global audience

Actually is he Australian, in the sense that he calls for the destruction of other Australian codes of football.

Can you imagine a commentator on a commercial station carrying on like him, luckily he is on SBS which no-one watches.

Cultural cringe, soccer chip on shoulder etc.

Socceroos have won over Australian sports fans

Hi Kim

Facts?, coming from the man/woman that thinks Rockhampton is Australias sporting capital.

A fan's perspective on the Melbourne Storm

Quite simply, he is a lunatic of the highest order.

Socceroos have won over Australian sports fans

Correct, if you had bothered to read the rest of the link that i provided you would not have needed to post your own.

However this thread was not about what happens to to many Aboriginals in later life, thanks for your wonderful post.

AFL's indigenous stars dazzling with their skills

I think FGMN post was a bit of a dig, no doubt, but so was the reaction.

Soccer IMO suffers a cultural cringe in this country, it is not accepted mainstream , and that will change only slowly.

People will watch the socceroos but then return to their old habits.

Socceroos have won over Australian sports fans

China for 2026.

Unless of course frank starts handing out westfield vouchers.

Last throw of the dice for cranky frankie.

It'll be Russia for 2018, USA for 2022

I think some people are insulted easily.

Think he is pretty close to the mark, FGMN is talking about the old NSL and it’s fans who in many instances were not really interested in soccer but flying their own or their parents national flag.

Socceroos have won over Australian sports fans

Have played with quite a few aboriginal footballers and some but not all have thes awareness sbout them.

You can have great skills, run for miles, kick fantastic goals etc but to be a great footballer you must know whats happening around you, call it peripheal vision or a sixth sense, but without looking to know whats happening around you.

Aboriginal footballers seem to have this quality more than the average European/Australian, the paragraph below could explain things better.

“Some people are lucky – they have vision which is better than average. If your vision is 6/5, you can see objects at six metres which the average person can see clearly at five metres.

Professors Fred Hollows and Hugh Taylor have found Aborigines in Western Australia, whose average vision is 6/1.5 ! This means that they can see at six metres what the average person can see at only 1.5 metres.”

AFL's indigenous stars dazzling with their skills

It might be live in Melbourne, i wonder what tine it will be in Perth, 8.30 start, so in reality around 8.50 i imagine.

Last week 7 got fantastic ratings for the the Dockers/Collingwod game and one reason was the game WAS ON EARLIER.

315,000 people watched the game in Perth with another 41,000 at the ground, guess what, ? the game was on at 7.30 !!.

Give us 7.30 football.

Friday's blockbuster is no Grand Final preview. Yet!

Kay Schavinato ?.

Aussie cricketers have mixed fortunes at World T20

What, like the middle of the road or something ?, then that would be ridiculous, or like you mean at a park,

Kids dont, they use posts for all sorts of ball games.

Blacktown Stadium is a potential white elephant

So great diversty of people, but not sport, OK then !!.

Can’t have everything.

Televised AFL is now impossible to watch

I think Pithara has a population of about 50 people, so surely it must be in the running for Australia’s sporting capital.

Per capita based on statistical analysis, it’s gotta be right up there Kim.

Could Melbourne host another Olympic Games?

I guess you would like to replace it with another regional quirky sport !!.

If you want to watch RL get foxtel, thats why the NRL sold the rights to foxtel.

Live and uninterupted Ian.

Televised AFL is now impossible to watch

Yawn, you are wrong, but who really cares.

Televised AFL is now impossible to watch

I applaud you that you took the time to refute my points, although to suggest that Townsville or Rockhampton or Wagga are Australias sporting capitals are ludicous at best.

You are stretching a really long bow ….. nope .. you have snapped it.

Seriously .. come on Kim.

Personally i think your initial post was nothing more than a trap, designed, so you spring this ridiculous argument about international reps.

I guess using your crazy argument Pithara in WA should be Australias sporting capital.

Shirley Strickland came from there, she won a stack of Olmypic ( 3 Gold) and Empire medals and, surely a argument such as the one you are using should factor medals into it.

Good lord Kim !!.

Could Melbourne host another Olympic Games?

I doubt that very much, although you did say OUR WS, i guess their not yours now you are from the Eastern suburbs !!.

Could Melbourne host another Olympic Games?

You really should get a job transfer from Melbourne Ian, quite clearly you hate where you live, you have nothing, absolutely zilch , nada to post about your city that is positive.

Have you realised this ?.

Televised AFL is now impossible to watch

Now i get it, your from WS and the AFL is coming to eat your kids, this is what it’s really about, not going to bother with you, little point.

Could Melbourne host another Olympic Games?

Reigning RL premiers.
Reigning AFL premiers
F1, Melbourne cup, Stawell gift.
Melbourne Victory came 2nd but clearly had the biggest membership and crowds for A-league.
Melbourne Vixens premiers 2009, lead the ladder for this years netball league.
Victoria has won the sheffield shield for the last 2 years.

I could go on but i think this list completely makes you look like Zach’s opinion of you is completely right.

How about you explain with any statistics that Melbourne is not the sporting capital of Australia.

Could Melbourne host another Olympic Games?

The tone of your statements suggests that you do “give a toss”.
