Brett you had me at …”(especially for that half pull-half punch shot in front of square)”

What we do and don't know about our Baggy Greens

Good Article Brett!!

MJ Clarke for everyone in the Pubs and at the office who bag him I ask… If you were earning $1Mill a year in you present job, would you not be living in a sweet pad In Bondi and driving an Aston? and would you not want some stunning girl to hang out with? MJ is living my dream, Test cricketer, captain of Australia… I love watching his progress and applaud all his achievements. If he was English or Indian he’d be a God in their sporting world…

Bowling: I think this group of players can be world beaters, Harris at 32 has limited days, but a 4 prong attack of Siddle, Hilfy, Pattinson & Cummins will get me to every day of every test next summer… who needs a spinner? The WI smashed the world into little pieces with their attack, why can’t we? All Credit to McDermott as bowling coach for his efforts & Troy Colley in the past…

Batting: Someone please put their hand up to replace Ponting and Hussey, nothing would delight me more then to have a Jamie Siddons or Mark Waugh like figure smashing attacks all round the country yelling out “Pick me for the Windies tour!!”

What we do and don't know about our Baggy Greens

I totally agree with this article.

The no.1 Test ranking is a joke to which England & India can hide behind. When Mark Taylor’s team beat the West Indies in 95 he was first to say this doesn’t make us No.1 we have to win everywhere to truly be that.

While mediocrity is accepted via a few good wins and then to get pummelled (India) by Eng & Aust and (England) by Pakistan just shows how flawed the rankings are and the teams attitude towards training and their performance, from all accounts India have had a gentle throw down as training for the T20 game while Mickie Arthur has been “Flogging” his players, its smells of the ghost of Bobby Simpson in the late 80’s & 90’s and smells of further dominance by Australia

India's arrogance is holding Test cricket back

Happy to read about what you think he did Rowdy! 10 wickets for 500 odd runs suggests he got smashed.
Warne took 40 but he’s never received a thanks for coming OBE like some of the English players did….

Is Paul Harris the most annoying cricketer?

I personally think it was another example of an article written with the intent of selling more copies of an average newspaper, a beat up as they call it in the industry.

Of the “League Players” I always thought that Rogers was the best, but he really was a Union player who went to league and back (and forth). To end up as a quality starting fly half for the Wallabies after a short period of time back in Union speaks volumes of his ability.

Add to that list one Andrew Walker, we didn’t even tap into his potential. Remember his try against the Lions in 2001?

Tahu blames the garbage man

Once again…”How good was Phil Waugh”! He’s a freak!

Turner's double gets Waratahs home

I find it hard to believe that ‘Dingo’ wouldn’t have a plan in place for Mr. Beale – A full back position or something like that to then turn him into a fly half later on. There aren’t too many players that are a naturally born fly half these days, the Ella’s of the world are a by gone era.
Maybe a season or two in League might turn him into the type of defender that B.Barnes is?

Given the lack of depth nation wide and the Force looking for a fly half and another possible super franchise on the way I wouldn’t be sending him to the back paddock just yet!

Waratahs up, Kurtley Beale down and possibly out

Spiro,
Its the for the “infuriating factor” that I thought England should have used Nixon as their wicket keeper on the last Ashes tour, he bugged the life out of every batsman in the one day series post the tests where as Geraint Jones was so worried about his form that he said nothing (so it would seam). Maybe its Harris making the most of his talents as someone like Collingwood does for England, he’s not the best bat in the world but keeps scoring runs…

Is Paul Harris the most annoying cricketer?

My problem is how do I judge someone like Morris who played on uncovered pitches in unmodern times in terms of equipment and fitness compared to Hayden who really didn’t start his career until some of the modern greats retired (Ambrose, Walsh, Donald, Akram). The cricketers of the 30’s – 50’s had it so much tougher, I can’t begin to imagine how many runs Harvey, Bradman, Morris, Barnes & co would have pumped out. Border for me should be in the side as he scored runs against the greatest attacks of all time. Don’t get me wrong I’m a Hayden fan but the comparisons are uneven to Morris I feel.

Australian cricket's best ever team

My online name came about because I’m a Waratahs fan living in Melbourne, I’m glad I didn’t move back to Sydney a few months ago because I’d have bought a membership….

The Waratahs are driving me to Queensland!
