Dreadful. This will be a long comment but there’s so much to go through.
(1) Where’s the magazine show?? Where’s the extra coverage? One of the things we were upset about at the end of the Fox regime was that there was little coverage outside of the game itself. Yes, we have short pre game and post game shows, and snippets of games and other news makes it onto 10 news – but apart from that – no magazine show (as we were promised), no podcast (even Fox still has one), no shows during the week (like Santo, Sam, Ed). Very disappointing.
(2) The recruitment of incompetent people. Daniel Georgievski is a likeable guy and has a lot of personality but should not be on air as a commentator. He is inarticulate and stumbles when speaking all the time. He also has no grasp of the history of the sport and his knowledge is poor. The 10 guys are not football people, they seem like nice guys but recruiting rugby and AFL people to work on football is poor from 10. Fox never did that. The pundits also lack personality – GYD, Wilkshire, Milligan, Brosque are all boring and don’t have the personality of Bozza, Peacock, Slater etc.
(3) The fact that Paramount+ excludes all casual fans. Lots of people I know have told me that they used to watch the A-L when it was on Fox and it was on, but don’t care enough to get an extra streaming service with little other content just to watch the A-League. This is a big problem imo.
(4) Technical issues. Why is there STILL no live pause or rewind?? Why are there STILL no replays of FFA Cup games?? Ridiculous imo. Why are there STILL random blackouts during games??
(5) The fact you need good internet to watch games in HD locks out a significant portion of the population from watching the A-League. The fact you cannot pause or rewind only adds to that. If the internet starts playing up, you might miss 20 mins of the game that you can’t watch back. Great reason to turn off.
(6) Random mistakes. Showing a picture of Roderick Miranda as Ben Folami. Stuff like that. Looks super unprofessional and is pretty disrespectful in my opinion.

something that i’ve noticed AA is the lack of runs off yengi when he comes deep to link up out wide. he often drags centre backs out of position but when the cross comes in from halloran or goodwin there’s no one in the centre in the space that yengi has created. mauk hasn’t yet reached his high levels from last season where he was making excellent runs into the box consistently – maybe it’s time for a toure and yengi 2 up front? i know it’s not veart’s preferred system but that would be an absolute nightmare for defenders imo.

yep agree. impressive when i’ve watched him. as you mentioned his leadership is very evident when he plays, so too his physicality yet he is also good on the ball. was surprised he didn’t get much of a go last season for sydney fc’s 1st grade npl side.

SFC don’t play youth. If they did then ALF and Bobo would be out the door and players like Segecic, Calusic, Pavlesic(!), Mlinaric, Girdwood-Reich would be in and around the squad. If they did Nieuwenhof would be a nailed on starter, and Tilio and Hollman would still be at the club.

the best advice i can give for someone to follow when games are is to download sofascore. add the leagues/teams you want to follow and it is easy to find out when the games are. i have no affiliation to the app whatsoever but it works for me
