“I’m sure they will appear as witnesses for Nathan if he has to front judiciary”

The referees appearing as a witness supporting a player in a judiciary hearing. The very idea would be hilarious if it wasn’t so likely in the case of Nathan Cleary. You can bet your house that IF Cleary ever gets suspended, it will be before a crucial State of Orgin decider. But surely that will be just a coincidence? 😛

Sweet revenge! Talking points as Panthers secure second successive grand final berth with bruising win over Storm

We have been over this ad nauseam FT. I have conceded repeatedly that Manly were disadvantaged and were entitled to the same salary cap relief. You and your Manly brothers agreed with me that the NRL were WRONG with their ruling against Manly and that at some point the rule had to change for the sake of the game, the clubs and a more equitable competition. One club was always going to be the first to benefit from that, and Manly were only a 1 in 16 chance of being that team.

So, in reference to my long list of charges against the Panthers in my above comment, are you happy to see a team so consistently being allowed to play outside the rules get handed a premiership? Souths aren’t guilty of cheating or preferential treatment mate. If they were, Latrell would still be playing. Time to pick a side FT. I would have supported Manly against the Panthers if Manly had progressed to the GF instead of Souths.

Cleary CLEARED: Panthers skipper a free man for grand final

But if that was the case it would even out due to the law of averages not only benefit one side in particular again and again and again… jimmmy.

Cleary CLEARED: Panthers skipper a free man for grand final

“that trick” jimmmy? Is that how far the game has fallen, jimmmy? That we now use euphemisms like gamesmanship and trick for cheating? Is there no integrity left in the game? Is it all about the ratings and turnover? Has the game completely sold its soul to commercial interests?

That is what “The Pride of the League” will be playing for next week, the soul of Rugby League. Too bad so many are happy to turn a blind eye to the Panthers serial… “tricks”.

To win without honour or integrity is to win without glory. Souths are only interested in the latter. That is why the Rabbitohs revere and embody Glory, glory so much.

Don’t jinx it, Big Mig. 😁

Then explain the multiple bad calls last week that robbed the Eels of a prelim finals spot. Including the following:

– Mitchell Moses being pulled back to stop a try being let go
– Will Penisini being tackled without the ball to prevent a try
– Viliame Kikau being allowed to stand in the Panthers attacking line to get his leg strapped and negate the advantage of a quick restart for foul play by the Panthers
– Stopping the game with only minutes left because someone stood on Mitch Kenny”s foot!
– The Panthers trainer stopping the game when he wasn’t even on the field and hadn’t assessed the extent of Mitch Kenny’s injury
– Kurt Capewell kicking the ball away with less than a minute on the clock in order to waste time and then Klein not stopping the clock even though the Eels pointed out the ball had been kicked away
– Additionally, Jerome Luai tripping Jaydn Su’A as Brian To’o was bundled into touch the week before in the qualifying final
– Nathan Cleary not being cited or suspended for putting his arms between the legs of Kenny Bromwich, lifting him past the horizontal position and then dumping him on his head
– Nathan Cleary promoting the ball 10 metres in-field for the conversion of the Brian To’o try in the left-hand corner

What do you call all that if not a conspiracy, mate? Coincidence? 😂 😂 😂

Cleary CLEARED: Panthers skipper a free man for grand final

A joke? You mean like Nathan Cleary promoting the ball 10 metres in-field after the To’o try to take the conversion and getting away with it?

Cleary CLEARED: Panthers skipper a free man for grand final

You forgot another important point jimmmy… with cynical intent, Nathan Cleary promoted the ball 10 metres in-field after the To’o try to take the conversion and was not pulled up for it. Any thoughts? Or are you going to give Ivan’s son a pass on that too, just because he is Ivan’s son?

““Par for the course”. Do you even golf sir?”
I wasn’t aware that you had to actually play a sport to be allowed to use a sporting cliché. Does that mean I had to play in the NFL to be allowed to be a “Monday morning quarterback” ? Because I have never been at the line of scrimmage to take a snap, and yet I find myself in that position every Monday. 😂

We have to cover all the bases, TS. Speaking of which, what are your thoughts on the Panthers latest “tactics”?

Cody Walker? Please! Cody Walker was given a two-match suspension after the Bulldogs game earlier in the year. When has that happened to Ivan’s son? Munster I agree is a grub but still the combined offences of Munster, Walker and Cleary don’t even come close to JWH’s record of offences and the number of times he has been let off.

The second option. Definitely the second option!

So this is the future of the NRL? The team that are best che@ts win! How long will the NRL and Rugby League fans continue to tolerate this brazen misconduct that is undermining the integrity of the game?

Sneaky, or cheating? The Nathan Cleary kicking ploy during prelim win that went unnoticed

Cleary CLEARED: Panthers skipper a free man for grand final

Breaking News: Cleary got off. No surprise there. The Rabbitohs will save the surprises for the Panthers next week.

Sweet revenge! Talking points as Panthers secure second successive grand final berth with bruising win over Storm

Yet Issac Luke missed a GF for a similar offence. Latrell copped a suspension which was deserved. So too was this. The system is rigged! If Nathan Cleary wasn’t protected, he would at least have had substantial loading from recent offences he was not cited for or was only fined for. This would have been more than enough to have had him suspended. Other players from other clubs would have lost a player for 3 – 5 weeks for the same tackle.

Sweet revenge! Talking points as Panthers secure second successive grand final berth with bruising win over Storm

Cleary has gotten off from being charged for multiple offences over the past several weeks. The worst he copped was a fine. Face facts Rossi, now that Cam Smith has retired Nathan Cleary is now the most protected player in the game… until next week and the Rabbitohs forwards remind him he is still vulnerable on the field.

Many of my comments are Tony. But I suspect the warning wasn’t directed at you, but rather in my comments in general about the game on other stories. This comment (below) was one of the comments, but there were others before the game.

All the pressure Friday night is on Wayne Bennett’s Rabbitohs. It will make them or break them

Déjà vu – Manly to take down Souths in the preliminary final again

Well, surprise, surprise! How typical. Replace Cleary with Latrell, and tell me if you would ever expect to see that headline for the same tackle? Does anyone need any more proof that the system is rigged?

“We’re gonna hear this all week and all summer and Souths lose.”

You better hope that your old coach works his magic and the Rabbitohs win then Nat. 😂

They are the most interesting opinions after all, Nat. More fun to stir up a hornet’s nest than watch them sleep in peace. 😂

Anyone here interested in discussing the Joshua vs Usyk fight, join me on:

Anthony Joshua loses world heavyweight title in mammoth upset

David beat Goliath, so there could be hope for the underdog Rabbitohs to beat the refs favourites, the Panthers yet. 😂

Sweet revenge! Talking points as Panthers secure second successive grand final berth with bruising win over Storm

AJ threw away his advantage as a heavyweight in trimming down too much and trying to fight Usyk on Usyk’s terms rather than his own. He should have put pressure on Usyk early, cut off the ring and try to back Usyk onto the ropes. Instead, he let Usyk stand in the centre of the ring and dictate engagements. AJ was NEVER going to out box Usyk. Usyk clearly has the superior ring IQ and boxing pedigree. I can’t imagine Ali, George Foreman, Joe Frazier, Mike Tyson or Lennox Lewis in their prime letting a cruiserweight dictate the fight like that. What was AJ and his team thinking? There were already warning signs when AJ was preparing for 12 rounds. AJ was never going to win this fight on points. He had to destroy his opponent, instead he looked like Usyk’s sparring partner. Full credit to Usyk. Only 19 professional fights and unified heavyweight champion after only THREE heavyweight fights! What a champion!

Carl Froch said it best after the fight… “If you want to beat a top boxer, you don’t box him you fight him. And if you want to beat a top fighter, you don’t fight him you box him. Don’t play them at their own game because then you give them all the advantages.”

Anthony Joshua loses world heavyweight title in mammoth upset

No Tony. I tried to warn you ahead of time that you were way off the mark. You must have skipped those comments, mate. Unfortunately, you went out on a limb with that prediction and the branch broke. 😛

Déjà vu – Manly to take down Souths in the preliminary final again

jimmmy, better that than Grant Atkins and Ashley Klein who would give the least penalised team in the competition a 9-2 penalty count against them while turning a blind eye to the same offences by the Panthers. If Klein referees the game then every time Souths make a break Cleary and Luai will be free to hold players back or hang onto the legs of tackled players without even worrying about being penalised. I’m sure no one wants that.

I’ll do the Panthers a deal. How about Nathan Cleary is allowed to play in the GF if Latrell Mitchell’s suspension is lifted? Both players deserve to be suspended for the GF so if one plays BOTH should end up playing. How does that sound?

Sweet revenge! Talking points as Panthers secure second successive grand final berth with bruising win over Storm

If Cleary doesn’t play, Souths win comfortably. If Cleary plays, my heart may not be able to take it. It’s self-preservation BD. Besides, Nathan Cleary has escaped loading in the past weeks when he SHOULD have been charged for crushers, late hits on kickers, high shots, crusher tackles etc.

If that had been Latrell we both know things would have gone quite differently, Nathan Cleary has been protected from suffering the consequences for his actions on field. He even escaped being sin-binned for a professional foul against the Eels when he held onto Gutherson’s leg after a break late in the game and effected a second tackle. Cleary wasn’t even penalised!

If the rules exempt one player, then they aren’t rules at all and all other players and clubs are being disadvantaged. What punishment, other than a fine paid by the club, did Jerome Luai suffer after holding back Mitchell Moses to stop a try and intentional tripping Jaydn Su’A the week before? The favouritism being shown to the Panthers sickens me and undermines the integrity of the game.
