I agree with the last point about wanting any injuries to be in matches that are form premiership points. The issue with your point is though. If you lengthen the season, clubs will still want to play trial games. The AFL draw is a mess due to 18 teams fitting into 22 rounds. Still a problem if you extend it to 26 … Who plays who twice ? Love your comments though “Bunny”

Macca you’ve got the passion, just hope it all comes true – otherwise I’m not sure what excuses you will use this time next year.

I predicted Swans to win the flag last year, both my father and brother are Swans fans. Nobody got on the swans bandwagon until they beat Hawthorn down in Tasmania. North Melbourne had some great wins early in the season too, I follow Geelong and there win in over Geelong was huge. we were totally outplayed. I thought they would kick on to make the prelims but didnt. Who do you support ?

There are a few teams that even without injuries will not push the 8. Bulldogs, Melbourne, GWS, Brisbane are building or rebuilding.

I don’t know how west coast can fit former bulldog hill, le cras, Nicosiki darling, Kennedy, cox in a forward line? Am I missing anyone . Le Cras to play on ball parts of quarters I think.

As a cats fan I genuinely fear the eagles depth. I think you run deep through entire list. The injuries over last 2 years have secured that depth.

I agree about Carlton, I put them at 8 but wouldn’t surprise if they missed the 8, as I said other teams have a lot more improvement then Carlton this year.
I think Kerr was exceptional late last year and still in the elite group of midfielders. Josh Kennedy had an amazing 2012 im keen to see how he goes this year, whether it can be maintained. he has the Watson, cousins, ablett ability to kick goals going forward. I think he will almost have to fight Kieran jack for those hard ball gets. He’s not far off elite especially saying his name in that company.

Nth Melbourne got rid of Hamish Macintosh , and have no genuine replacement , majak daw is untried at this level and I think he’s their no1 backup ruck man right?. No Goldstein no Nth Melbourne for this year anyway. If he’s fit and dominating on ball majak will fit in nicely.

I couldn’t fit in a huge elaboration for every comment I made and I’m not desperately defensive either. Just love the debate and banter.

Love it … I hope GWS and Gold Coast finish that high. Are you a north Melbourne fan ? I see improvements in Richmond but don’t have the nuts to put my hard earned on them making the 8.

Just for you MACCA, i even got the whole carlton list up.

Great Carlton Palyers –
Cruizer (has dominated sparodically in games but not consistently – hence only a great player),

Carrazzo (fantastic tagger who gets his own ball too, hes in my Super coach team, needs another brilliant season before I personally call him elite, injury robbed him last year.),

Kade Simpson (elite runner, brilliant outside player, who can muck in too. Scores goals going forward). Last year was easily his best in terms of impact. He stepped up a level when murphy and carrazzo injured. Hes need to dominate games again this season before i throw him in the ELITE.

Bryce Gibbs needs to show more. hes only just B grade. Hasn’t dominated games. Hoping Malthouse uses him differently. I dont think he is your “quarterback” like Scarlett and Goddard, Beau Waters etc are.

Heath Scotland – Mr consistency but nox excel. He is like Jude Bolton For Sydney, Heath Shaw for Collingwood (give 100% every week) but not the ELITE.

NB: Jarrad Waite – Is a highly skillfull player. I think he could be as dominating as Pavlich if he played consistent seasons but that has not happened. Hence he is just a decent player in my view.

I think other clubs have more improvement then Carlton. For your sake as a Blues fan your hoping I’m wrong. Lets wait and see. I have factored alot into my ratings. I am not writing a dossier on every team. Why dont you do that ? Love to see your predictions for the upcoming season.

Sydney Elite – (2) Goodes, Ryan O’keefe,
Great players – endless very even squad – Jack, Hannebery, Jetta, Kennedy, Bolton, McVeigh, Richards all great but not the very elite. not everyone can be elite.

Adelaide Elite – (1) Thompson,
Great players – Dangerfield, Sloane, Walker, Ben “The Truck” Rutten

West Coast Elite – Darren Class, Dean Cox, Daniel Kerr
Great players – Priddis, Kennedy, Le Cras, Natanui, Beau Waters, Schuey by the end of this year.

Im sure i have missed some, I don’t have each teams squads in front of me. Moving on. Thanks for the feedback Macca. You have raised great points of discussion.

What a disgrace but as said above i seriously hope the Physio has to field. Brilliant stories for generations to come as long as this doesn’t occur again. The decision makers in australian cricket are seriously having their worst summer to date, but problem is these decisions were made along time ago. I don’t have enough fingers to point the blame.

Two Australian cricket teams on the same day? Ridiculous right?

Macca its ok for others to have a differing opinion. in my opinion A grade is elite. im not going to start grading like a teacher and putting + and ++ and +++ after each player. I think there are only 2 elite players at present at Carlton. I am not saying that in 3months, 6 months 12months time there might not be more. Having one good or dominating season does not make you elite. Lets see how carazzo and Simpson go this year, i think they are both good/great players, just not elite. Hopefully Simpson hasnt shaved his beard off yet. I hear its one of the best getting around. I like your passion for support of whats seems to be your team. I am assuming you support Carlton.

I agree there is a need to pick Mc Breen or Berisha to start as their is no size whatsoever in this team. Manchester united defenders are bulky. The will just bustle Thompson out of the way. Thompson can come off the bench if a spark is required later in the game.

Who's in your A-League All-Stars XI?

I think if you gave all parties involved with this fight a lie detector test, the machine would blow up, the power would go out in the building and the fallout may even take out a sub-station. These guys are as suspicious as the villain in most warner brothers cartoons. Switching off the care factor regarding the sham aussie fights.

Sonny Bill Williams vs Francois Botha: Bout gets even murkier

All valid comments Macca. I agree Kreuzer, Tom Bell, Carrazzo, Simpson even Gibbs all are not at their peaks, all have up sides. I think they are all B grade at present. Carlton did have a horrendous season with injuries. I gave about 100 words to each team. I wasn’t planning on criticing the whole list. Follow me on twitter @BIG_BIG_SHOW for more open discussion. I’d love to see Carlton suceed over Hawks, Collingwood, pretty much any other victorian team.
