Right decision, good chance it could be his last season. At 20, Tom Brown was great in his debut game with 17 disposals and 6 marks down back. Tresize 21, also looks like a good long term prospect, had a great first game as well. Next year some of youngsters from the 2022 draft will get more of a run.

Grimes makes surprise captaincy call as Tigers roll with sole skipper

That argument is well worn. If that was the case, Melbourne would have won 20 AFL/VFL Premierships in the past 50 years not 1 – just a crock. 😱

Hardwick hits back at critics over Suns getting preferential draft picks 'for the greater good of the game'

Yep Tiger team have done great. 9 draft picks next year with some picks tied to Freo and Wet toast. That should give us a a strong hand 👍 A future midfielder and forward is exactly what we needed!

2023 AFL Draft recap: Who your team picked, biggest steals and more

Wow! Woke up to see the highlights! Seen a lot of great one day cricketers from the start of coloured clothes, Viv & Barry Richards, Botham etc but nothing like that. Unbelievable! The Afghans were brilliant, ball swing everywhere and stunned all. Yeah Maxi was lucky but gee he made the most of it and a good wake up call for the Aussies.????

Sorry Scribe, tipping the Lions. You know us Tiger fans can’t go the Pies. Just think the Brissy midfield is stronger. Weather is Lions advantage but Pies have been brilliant this year and find a way to win. Re-living the rivalry of the naughties!

After years of blowouts and shockers, do we finally have an AFL Grand Final worth watching?

Scribe, the Lions have brought the weather with them. 29 degrees both in Brisbane and Melbourne! It’s an omen, great odds at $2.00. To me they are the form team.

Priddis agree 100 percent. I hated those Grand Finals because of the Swans! The Eagles were a favourite of mine the way they played with dash and skill. Really thought the future of the game was going to be like how the Swans played. 🤢 And then I thought only 6ft plus guys could play because of Adelaide talls but Tigs changed the game with a small forward line, made the game unpredictable and exciting to watch!

Great take Wiki! I think the lead up to a Grand Final is what makes the GF great as well. 1973 was one of the greatest for the Tigs. 2017 was my Tiger favourite because of the drought was broken and all the pain we had endured for decades. It was like a dream being in the stands and watching the emotion of the day unfold. Despite Tim’s view which just focusses on the game itself. 2020, 4 months away from home, losing to the Lions then beating the Power on their home ground in the wet and coming back from 22pts down against the Cats and witnessing Dusty 4 unbelievable goals was incredible. Fortunate to be there. As you pointed out it’s not just the day it’s the lead up to the big one. And on that basis the Doggies premiership was absolutely brilliant!

Opened a can of worms Tim. What a subjective topic. 2020 GF is a top ten. The Dusty display in itself. Name 4 better goals by an individual in. GF. The trip back from Adelaide after beating Port in a classic and taking on the Cats who put the Lions away that pushed the Tigs aside only two weeks earlier. 4 months in a COVID camp. Sorry the journey adds to the eventual last contest. 2017 is a top 10. I don’t believe there was any team since 2000 that were such raging favourites as Adelaide expect the Dons in 2000. Remember they dismantled the Tigs by 74pts during the season and put the Cats away by 10 goals in the Premlim. No Tiger had played a final. It was brilliant with Dusty having impact! Yep I’m biased 2019 wasn’t the worst. No one alive has seen a player debut in a Grand Final. It was just great footy which took the Giants apart. This game was better than the ugly Swans style of game, that threatened to turn people off AFL. But I’ll go for the West Coast 2018. Next best thing to celebrating a Tigers win, is a Pies loss in a GF!

Andrews the best backman all game!

Could Daicos' return backfire on the Pies? Five burning questions ahead of AFL preliminary finals

On momentum that’s got to be the Lions – undefeated at the Gabba and only really challenged once all year by the Crows at their home venue. Tipping a Blue evening for Carlton fans!

Could Daicos' return backfire on the Pies? Five burning questions ahead of AFL preliminary finals

Finals football, it’s anyone’s cup to win. Based on weekends outcomes I have the following rankings:
1. Brisbane, looking the freshest and at the Gabbatoir ,should cruise pass the banged up Blues who played and celebrated like they had won a Grand Final. Past finals disappointments must be fueling this team.
2. Pies just, but wouldn’t be surprised if Giants run over them.
3. Giants very impressive and are just fine tuning the Ferrari. Timing it perfectly and can go all the way.
4. Rabid Blues supporters, players and coach went over the top and forgot there a two more games left. Subconsciously they have have already achieved. It tells me they haven’t experienced enough heart ache yet. Can’t see them beating the rested home team this weekend.

I was fortunate enough to meet the man and chat one on one about footy as a young bloke, i got his autograph and he gave me the time of day, what a legend and gentleman. We spoke about the most emotional moment in the game – how could you pick one! Like many giants of sport, very humble, he reflected not on his personal achievements but the reactions from others that obviously touched him. He spoke about winning the Premiership with North for the first time and the impact it had on so many people. Supporters came up to him with so much emotion to thank him as they had followed the club for 50 years without success. Tears running down their faces as many said their soul was now at peace seeing their beloved Kangas win a flag. I think he really understood the impact he had on so many people in the game of AFL. So passionate about the game and realised how it brought people together from many diverse backgrounds. A Giant of the sport and an unbelievable contribution – we miss all you Ron! 😢

'Full and extraordinary life': AFL legend Ron Barassi dies aged 87

My worst nightmare! 🤢 If they both make the GF, I’ll have to leave the country. The biggest debate among Tiger fans for decades is who do you hate more! For me the Blues! 😡 Can’t believe I would be going for the Pies in a GF – that hurts 😢

Finals Fix: How Melbourne killed their season with the butcher job to end all butcher jobs

I reckon that was the Blues GF. Celebrations from the rabid membership burning ticket holders from 10 weeks ago was off the charts! Lions are primed for the slaughter at the Gabbatoir! Eat ‘en alive Lions!!

Finals Fix: How Melbourne killed their season with the butcher job to end all butcher jobs

Yes! I reckon they would have lost by a point! 🤢

Finals Fix: How Melbourne killed their season with the butcher job to end all butcher jobs

Snatched a loss from the jaws of Victory! 🤢 Glad I wasn’t emotionally involved in that game. Really thought the it was Dees-y nasty after 21 GF they were destructive in that final! Turned into a Dees-aster a few years later. Just feel for you 😢 Hate those Blues! 😡 God spare me, not a Pies/Blues final. 😱

Of course it was, you could see from your lounge room and like the camera were in a better position than the goal umpire who only had a view from directly under the post. 😱

'Wanted to hit, wanted to hurt': Brayden Maynard - the guilty man found innocent

Scribe, I watched the incident over and over. As a Tigers fan I don’t believe it was intentional, my opinion. Yes I do believe he braced himself in the last millisecond. Him bracing, not to dissimilar to Mansell who got 3 weeks and I believe shouldn’t have. The real issue is that the AFL this year have set a precedent of their adjudication of incidents and they are not consistent. Maynard was fortunate. But like the goal review system it has hairs on it. Just as Tigers goal from the umpire was overturned last year in Brisbane from a camera 80m away in the stands.

'Wanted to hit, wanted to hurt': Brayden Maynard - the guilty man found innocent

Agree with you on Danger except the Vlastuin incident, he went through with his elbow and today that is a suspension. As for Cotch, I’ll call it a Maynard incident – debatable. Stewart, that hit on Prestia was disgusting and cost us the game and a trip to Brisbane and we won’t talk about the accuracy of a review system camera from 80m away on an angle. Ultimately it set the Cats up for the flag. I hope for Prestia’s sake his doesn’t have long term issues, scary how his legs were like jelly as he was carried off. But hey poor Stewart nice guy, let’s worry about him 🤢

'Wanted to hit, wanted to hurt': Brayden Maynard - the guilty man found innocent

Ah I see you speak of Stewart at Geelong. Oh poor Stewart he is such a nice guy, I’m sure Prestia will be ok – maybe in old age he may have issues but who cares Stewart is so nice. 👍

'Wanted to hit, wanted to hurt': Brayden Maynard - the guilty man found innocent

How about Danger’s hit on Vlastuin in the 2020 GF? Give me your verdict on that one, that was a lot more recent and I’ll give you mine on Cotch.

One difference all the Tigers players have multiple premiership medals around their necks. No Suns or Dockers player has one – unless you count Ellis!

What went wrong for AFL's 2023 also-rans?

No Bolton’s execution let him down this year. Not as consistent as Dusty. Taranto wins the Jack Dyer medal, Dusty runner up, Bolton 3rd. Better
Season than 2020 by Dusty. Considering he had 9 games last year and missed a couple with injury this year, probably should have got a spot in the bench.

The Roar's predicted AFL All-Australian team: Dusty must make the cut... but who should be left out for him?

We all love Dusty! 😛 Only Petracca and Toby. He gets a bench spot. 👍
