How can you trust these bozos to not stuff up the Lions Tour? They’ve made a mess of the Rebels and no transparency on Tahs situation.
Exclusive: Herbert claims 'steady progress' in rebuilding trust as RA seeks to avert more board bloodshed at AGM
Herbert you a complete clown. No one is buying a slither of your diatribe. Do us all a favour, resign with Waugh and allow the rugby community to vote on a board that has some expertise and isn’t just jobs for the boys and let’s milk those directors fees.

Maybe you should give them that advice…
'Insane and total stupidity': Drua have two SENT OFF as Rebels score 33 unanswered points to win again
Keep winning Rebels. Each win puts more pressure on the useless RA.

Bloody oath!
'Insane and total stupidity': Drua have two SENT OFF as Rebels score 33 unanswered points to win again
It’s a shame RA made the marketing team redundant. No one in Melbourne knows the games are on. #SenddownthePigeons

Why not Fiji? if it’s 9 teams than it’s 16-games for each side (8 home games) and a bye for a rest for each side.
'Went straight through us': Blues put 50 on Force as scrum issues return
Rebs looking good now mate!

Not sure those negative descriptions were needed. Hope the Rebels get flogged now and get thrown out the comp :p

agree with all of this.
Rugby Australia kicks off review into Waratahs as pressure mounts on Coleman ahead of Brumbies clash
Would love to attend that game, you think if Rebels can win that will give RA a real headache.

It’s mainly due to the lack of crowd in a 31k stadium. If the same crowd was down the road at Lakeside Stadium in Albert Park, it would feel vocal and the atmosphere increase. It doesn’t matter how vocal you are, there’s often as many seagulls as supporters at AAMI. There is an ok atmosphere when the rebels would play the kiwi sides. But that atmosphere was generated more from the kiwi expats I’d say. It’s obviously got a lot worse since Covid.

Be nice if these journos ask RA why they aren’t revealing any of the debt that Tahs are in and they’ve absorbed…

Cheik is the only one of those 3 who are qualified. Andy Friend would be a great option too.

Let’s face it, Super Rugby isn’t exactly guaranteed long term. The competition isn’t exactly in a healthy financial position. I can understand the Rebels wanting to hang on, but ultimately the whole comp could collapse in the next 5 years. So many of the clubs are not financially viable. From a Rebels perspective, why do you need to fully commit to Tarneit. I can understand when the new stadium is built and they have more infrastructure out there, but for now why not spread the games out? Lakeside Stadium in Albert Park can fit 12k, Moorabbin (circular ground) can 8k, Icon Park 13k. Why not play in a few different venues and see which one draws in the biggest crowds?
'We've got three pay cheques left': Rebels given glimmer of hope - but the clock is still ticking
Brumbies are doing horribly financially. Their crowds are going backwards. They will be next to declare they are financially f$cked

When did the rebels get those crowds? I was a season ticket holder for 5+ years. Best we had was about 14k. Still not even half full.

Every time I have been there and watched the rebels play with 4000 in a 31k stadium. Which was often when I lived in Melb. I had season tickets.

They do, as most clubs do in UK.

Mate Friday night games at The Stoop are the best, just make sure you get in early for a ticket!

AAMI doesn’t have any soul for the Rebels tho. It’s the Storm and Victory’s ground. They are the two clubs who draw decent crowds there.

AAMI is and I still think they will play some games there. But I really like the idea of building on the massive migrant population out west, largely Polynesian, home to multiple rugby clubs, and build a culture and something for the local population to aspire to and almost make rugby the sport for that region. I like it.

For the health of rugby particularly in a state like Vic this is a great move. That new Wyndham stadium will be awesome for that region, and football and rugby shouldn’t try compete with AFL in big stadiums. Boutique grounds are used by every rugby club in UK. Quinn’s have about 12k stadium. Every game is a sellout. It’s the model that works for club rugby.

Great read Geoff. Spot on as usual. I was intrigued that the game in Fiji went ahead. Living and playing in UK we have games cancelled for waterlogged pitches. It seemed that pitch was a lot worse than we would see cancelled over here.
