Are you completely blind to the amount of times he has been dismissed shouldering arms to balls around the 4th stump line that jag back in, Don? In Shield and at international level. Marnus even got him out in that fashion in the shield not too long ago bowling his 120k mediums… He has an enormous weakness when trying to leave balls on that line on decks without the pace and bounce of Perth decks. Open your eyes, Don.
Once again Don, you abuse people on here for not watching enough cricket but when it comes to Western Australian’s you suddenly have never watched them play. Green has shown an enormous weakness for a number of years playing balls on 4th and 5th stump line.

Race in four: McDonald narrows down Warner replacements, strongly hints at all-rounder's return

“Now if Green bat’s at 3 with a licence to play his own game as a counter attacker he might do better”. That is not and has never been Green’s “own game” in red ball cricket. He’s relatively slow, cautious and steadily moves through the gears. Always has been that way, especially when he bats higher up the order for WA. Marnus has already said he doesn’t want to open, they won’t force him to do it.

Renshaw’s FC strike rate is 48 which isn’t terribly far off Harris’s at 52, despite Harris spending most of his time batting on shield pancakes at Junction and the MCG

Banging down the door? Renshaw makes selectors sit up and take notice in Warner race with classy century

My opinion is you back any of the 3 opening candidates for an extended period. Shoehorning middle order players to open is not the answer, especially when it involves trying to find a way to get Marsh in the side when he isn’t even one of the top 6 red ball batsman in the country, not even close to be completely honest.

People need to aware of Don and his antics.

You don’t read what I have to say because for a number of years I have constantly called you out on here for lying and posting things that are entirely false. I’ll continue to do it, just so people on here know that 90% of what you post on here is rubbish.

Banging down the door? Renshaw makes selectors sit up and take notice in Warner race with classy century

But the umpire didn’t, there was nothing from Renshaw and ultimately the umpire 22 yards also saw nothing. On replay there was no deflection off the gloves, but keep telling yourself otherwise as long as it makes you feel better about your WA boy Bancroft been show up. Keep embarrassing yourself and making up lies, Don. Renshaw has 136 not out by his name and the only person questioning that is you on The Roar. All I saw is Bancroft getting out LBW falling over his front pad, a dismissal he had not changed his technique to stop for a decade since he was getting out the same way for the under 19 aus team

You acknowledged nothing I called you out on. Like you also didn’t acknowledge all the other times people have called out your lies. The comment I posted had nothing to do with or any mention of Matt Renshaw, why are you trying to bring Renshaw in to the conversation?

Backing Marsh to open with a First class average of just over 30 and 27 at test level? Are you having a laugh?

Says the man constantly lies in the comments sections. Sorry Don, it’s taken far too long but no one takes anything you say in the cricket threads seriously anymore because you have been time and time again proven to be a pathological liar in regards to everything that doesn’t involve your precious WA players. The sooner you disappear the better, these comment sections do not have room for your pathological and deranged lying. You are a liar and your existence takes away from genuine conversation between partial fans that can watch cricket through their eyes and not your WA tinted glasses. You are embarrassing, and your mere existence in the comments section ruins everyone’s experience. Grow up, you child. Incredible that you keep popping up in these threads despite the fact you constantly get shown to be lying.

Once again, you are completely and utterly delusion, there was zero on replay to suggest anything, the bowlers and keeper hardly appealed for it. He missed it, Don.

Banging down the door? Renshaw makes selectors sit up and take notice in Warner race with classy century

There was no conclusive evidence at all that he gloved that from the replay, and the umpire agreed. So he wasn’t out, Don, as can be seen by the not out and 136 runs next to his name on the scorecard.

The fact that Webster, who generally scores quite freely has also struggled to get anything away suggests it’s a very horrible slow dead pitch. Every single time a batsman has actually gone after anything they have got out.

Banging down the door? Renshaw makes selectors sit up and take notice in Warner race with classy century

Shocking pitch, nothing in it for the bowlers and zero pace in it making it hard for the batsman to find any rhythm

Advocating for a guy in their mid 30’s to play in a test series against opponents that should be easy beats when we have the option of playing younger guys that can build some confidence playing against them looking ahead for years to come? I usually agree with Ponting’s takes but this is a shocker from him. Maxwell simply won’t play test cricket again. Ponting is wayyy of the mark.

Ponting anoints Warner successor, but insists Green must 'bide his time' to make Test squad

What do we have to gain by bringing in a guy in his mid 30’s with very little test future in to 2 series we will win comfortably? Absolutely nothing. Green should be a walk up starter for the Summer to help him gain some confidence, not bringing back a bloke in his mid 30’s. Would sooner rather see us give an absolute bolter from nowhere like McSweeney or similar a token match or two against these teams to see if they have a bit about them than play Maxwell who will be on the T20 retirement circuit before the next series against England and India. The Maxwell ever playing test cricket again infatuation is both ridiculous and not going to happen.

The best thing the selectors can do for Cameron Green is to drop him from Test team … for now

Terribly wrong opinion, letting him play a full home Summer against the Windies and Pakistan is the absolute best thing for him.

Selectors line up three-way battle to replace David Warner in strong PM XI

Once again a load of clueless rubbish from you Don. For starters, Usman has almost exclusively batted at 4 when he has played for Qld for a number of shield seasons now, another lie from you. Renshaw has opened in every shield match he has played in since the start of the 2022/23 season (something else you have lied about by claiming he hasn’t been opening). He also never “got shuffled down the order” (another lie) for Marsh Cup matches. Aside from a handful or matches as a 19 year old he has never opened in white ball cricket for Queensland, he has almost always batted in the middle order because that is his spot in white ball cricket. Educate yourself before embarrassing yourself. Jewell and Ward have gone past him(possibly another lie or absolute delusion)? Caleb Jewell is averaging 16 in the shield this season. You really have no idea what you are talking about. Your awful takes are actually quite funny, you think Tim Ward with 1 100 in 50 FC innings and Caleb Jewell averaging 16 this shield season are ahead of the guy with 20 FC centuries at the age of 27. You are absolutely delusional. For someone who constantly tries to belittle people that post here on The Roar for not following domestic cricket you constantly show you aren’t following anything outside of WA games at all. Expand your knowledge so you can engage in conversation with those of us that actually watch domestic cricket outside of our favourite teams, Don. Stop lying Don. You are a perpetual liar and I hope everyone on the roar is starting to realise it.
I hope you grow up one day, Don.

Selectors line up three-way battle to replace David Warner in strong PM XI

He’s averaged more across Shield, county, Aus A and PM’s XI performances since he went back to the top of the order than Bancroft has across all First Class cricket in the same period. Will you acknowledge that fact or are you still going to be an insufferably bias fool that simply cannot have a discussion like an adult without letting your bias getting in the way or straight up making up lies? Cmon Don, we all have our favourites, but straight up trying to push lies in other conversations you have had on here. Grow up and have conversations on here with people that know more (or maybe the same as you without feeling the need to straight up lie to push their agenda) without lying. You are a liar Don, and you have been for a number of years on here.

Selectors line up three-way battle to replace David Warner in strong PM XI

My favourite was an argument I had with him about a year ago when he claimed Jordan Silk regularly opened for Tasmania in recent years, and despite me providing him with 2 seasons of scorecards showing that Tim Ward and Caleb Jewell had opened almost every match and Silk never had he refused to admit he was wrong.

Selectors line up three-way battle to replace David Warner in strong PM XI

Renshaw has been back opening since the start of the county season last year and has opened in every shield match he has been available to play since the beginning of last season as well as opening the batting in all the Aus A and PM’s XI First Class matches he has played in that time. Why do you make up lies Don? Do you really think people in here that actually follow shield cricket aren’t going to fact check you when you make up lies to suit your own agenda? How embarrassing that you can’t contribute to a discussion without lying.

Selectors line up three-way battle to replace David Warner in strong PM XI

Kind of does, Don. He barely averages over 30 in county cricket after several seasons of playing there. How is that not an indication?

Selectors line up three-way battle to replace David Warner in strong PM XI

Shield is decent parameter but how about Bancroft’s dismal county performance earlier in the year when he flew home from his Somerset stint after after averaging 19 from his handful of matches (Renshaw averaged 48 for Somerset last year and Marcus Harris has a county average of 54 in comparison), or his failures for Australia A a few months back (against the same bowlers that Renshaw averaged over 80 against back in February)? They all have their flaws and I don’t really think any of them are clearly a better option than the other.
I have it down to Renshaw and Bancroft, because I just don’t really rate Harris and feel like he will be far too easy for test sides to figure out because of how many runs he gets away with in domestic cricket playing through point and gully. Both deserve a crack imo, Bancroft on the back of shield performances, Renshaw on a combination of decent shield performances and excellent PM’s XI and Aus A performances in the last year. Might just end up coming down to who puts their hand forward the most in the PM’s XI match.

He’s only out of the Victorian side at the moment because he has a shoulder injury. I thought someone like yourself who goes on about how much shield and domestic cricket they observe would have been aware of that?
