Loyal rugby follower. Wasn’t a particularly good player but just loved the comradeship of it all. Ref now in country Qld.

Yes, poor old Sef getting 4 weeks for that. The only thing he could’ve done was to pull out of the tackle & drop to the ground very quickly, then he would’ve been done for a grass cutter. The guy wasn’t going to get a win anywhere.

What gets me is that they looked at this post game but not the intentional late hit by Finau on Lyangh which he luckily came out of unhurt. Which case would’ve the Judiciary got more bang for their buck in showing support for player safety?
Judiciary also needs to apply some commonsense to all cases. It was severely lacking in both of these incidents.

The Wrap: Reds light up Melbourne, while it's lights out for TV over Lienert-Brown concussion

I reckon Marky will go well in league, in that he won’t have to think about anything else but to run hard & fast. So true about him not hitting a hole well.

'Philosophical, disappointed but excited': Tahs lose another nail-biter as wasteful Blues hang on to make it 10 straight

Yeah, it makes you wonder what Big Brad could’ve achieved with some good help. He seemed to only get some decent ones in the last year with Heenan but by then he was already on the way out.

Discovering the blueprint for Super Rugby success: How Kiss managed to get away from a one-dimensional style

Thanks WE for that background on Kiss’s fellow coaches. You often see them in the coaching boxes but you wouldn’t have a clue who they are & their history. A couple of pics would’ve been good as well. Cheers.

Yep, just give Marky the ball where he doesn’t have to make too many decisions.

'Philosophical, disappointed but excited': Tahs lose another nail-biter as wasteful Blues hang on to make it 10 straight

Thanks John, good to see a bit of video analysis back on the Roar after Nick’s departure. Bonus it was on the Reds game.

'Be useful': how unrivalled discipline and work rate is lifting the Reds to new heights

Yeah, I don’t know what else Sef could’ve done, he was low, set for the tackle & the White#7 lowers his head as well? Accidental, 4 weeks too harsh.

Tupou won't shy away from hurting ex-teammates in first clash against old team, Reds prop cops surprising four-match ban

Late tackles such as this can be deemed as deliberate foul play, cardable offence any day of the week.
To compare this to the “Reds prop head butt” is wrong. Sef’s head was as low as his hips, getting into a good tackle position & it was accidental that white #7’s head came this low. Not sure what else Sef could’ve done here whereas Finau had all the time in the world to pull out of his tackle. It looked like he had one mission ,take out the #10.

'What you permit, you promote': Reds slam late 'cheap shot', HMP set to start ahead of Lynagh in Rebels grudge match

Don’t apologise BG, boys club is apt. Hard to get membership & you need to be member to get entry.

Test Mortem: Epic comeback win but cracks remain in line-up, Shield form has to count for something, Pat should bat higher

I found that hard to believe, why didn’t he just admit that he wanted to get the win as fast as possible?

Carey the clutch king: Gloveman's stunning 98, Cummins heroics keep Kiwi curse alive in thrilling comeback win

True, but what else is the guy going to say. He wasn’t going to bag the skipper in that moment, he was just happy to get the win after his big effort. I bet in a week’s time he will wish he had got the ton.

'You want a century in a run chase, you get it before Cummins arrives': The Liebke Report Card

That’s BS by Cummins, he would’ve been looking at the scoreboard after every run.

Carey the clutch king: Gloveman's stunning 98, Cummins heroics keep Kiwi curse alive in thrilling comeback win

Can’t believe Cummins didn’t know that Carey was on 98. I think it was poor form by the skipper with two wickets still in hand not to let him get his century. At least give him the next over to try to do it. It wasn’t as if they were bogged down, struggling for runs. Give the guy just rewards for his effort in getting Oz the win after the pathetic display of the top order.

'You want a century in a run chase, you get it before Cummins arrives': The Liebke Report Card

Pathetic from the top order, yet again, selectors will do nothing, yet again.
Also, Khawaja needs to grow a set to tell Smith when not to review when it’s plumb, that’s two reviews in a row he’s burned. Will it come back to bite them?

Rejigged Aussie batting line-up fails again as top-order collapse puts Black Caps on track for drought-breaking Test win

One was a low act, the other more accidental, I don’t know how much lower Red#1 could have gone to avoid the head clash, his head was already lower than his hips I think.

'Over the moon': Reds deny Chiefs for 23 PHASES to win 'titanic' trans-Tasman clash as Kiss' revolution continues

Great news. Just a pity for both teams that it’s at the end of their tour as it doesn’t let the selectors to use it as a trial game for higher honours. Hopefully Schmidt will let any marginal Qlders in the Wallaby squad go & play.

'A wonderful initiative': 33-year first as Wales to take on Queensland Reds in 'nod to traditional tours'

So happy for the Reds after that ‘loss’ last week.
Normally a BO’K fan but he had a shocker last night. Apart from his ‘nothing to see here’ with Finau’s late hit on Lynagh (where was the TMO here on this one- isn’t it their job to look at foul play off the ball?), his breakdown management was a free for all.
Players from both sides coming in from the side. When is it okay for a support player standing to the side of where a tackle is made, to then decide to latch on to form a ruck, coming through the gate seemed to be an option with BO’K?? One of the worst culprits was #7 for the Chiefs.
Anyway, still prefer him over most of the other whistle-blowers running around, hopefully he just had a bad night.

Agree Ben.

'Let's see what the worst thing about rugby league is and do that': Loathsome blight union never needed

Yep, Renshaw deserves a shot at opening, move Smith back to #3. Ideal chance to give the guy some more test experience & to see how he handles the green top. Can’t be any worse than Marnus.

Green shoots Aussies to big lead, but Smith's duck and Marnus' all time low give Kiwis a glimmer of hope

Too risky for the ultra conservative Australian brains trust to enforce the follow on.

Green shoots Aussies to big lead, but Smith's duck and Marnus' all time low give Kiwis a glimmer of hope

Yawn, yet again the selectors not playing horses for courses. Protecting the jobs for your mates.
I can see us getting rolled at least once for under a hundred in one of our innings with that line up.

Aussies lock in XI for first NZ Test as Cummins mulls big toss call

That’s a shame about Wagner not being picked. He’s one fellow that can give it to the Aussies. He’s so competitive & would get under the skin of some of the more precious Aussies.

Kiwis lose key man ahead of Australia Test clash

That was embarrassing from Van Egmond, two point blank opportunities. Even if she’s not normally a striker her reaction time is too slow, even when she’s back up field she turns possession over too easily. Time to put her out to pasture.

Matildas 35yo scores seven minutes into fairytale return as Fowler and Foord finish off Uzbekistan

I’d say it was cynical, Max J decided to leap into the tackle well before JP was any where near the ball. So he was just relieing on luck that his timing of contact was right. He didn’t – so bad luck. Cop the consequences.

'Tough call': Reds too good for Tahs in cracking Aussie derby, as controversial penalty try, yellow to Jorgo proves telling

Yes agree, Tahs weren’t as bad as the scoreline suggests. Both teams very physical & Tahs were very good at the breakdown, though did get a couple of freebies from Doleman.
