Again Mike keeps writing off the cowboys at any chance. The fact is they are second favourite for the comp and will probably finish second. Parramatta on the other hand seem to be a personal favourite of mike’s regardless of their performances.

“The Cowboys have underlined their top four credentials”. Mike has been a bit slow but might finally realize the cowboys are a pretty good side. The storm have a tough run home and i think the cowboys will finish in second. This probably explains why they are now third line on the betting at $7 with Eels 4th at $15. Not bad for wooden spoon co-favorites at the start of the season.

Old Mike doesn’t mind trying to write of the Cowboys at any chance does he? Forgot to mention Rueban Cotter ruled out minutes before the game and they played most of the game with 16 men after HTF was concussed. If anything, the come from behind win demonstrated the mental strength & fitness of the 2022 Cowboys. With the draw they are looking good for a top 4 spot and who knows what happens from there.

Every single power rankings seems to write off the cowboys. Interestingly they are outright 3rd favorite with the bookies, third best attack and second best defense. Second half defense (and therefore probably attitude and fitness) is unmatched by anyone.

Yep. Watch any team JT played for. He was ALWAYS backing up in support, seeking to make the last ditch tackle. I haven’t seen a player as competitive as JT.

Good point Waz, the majority of the country is still working, most kids are still at school or daycare, unis are still open. The risk to the players and support staff is probably less then those working at hospitals, schools or with the general public. I doubt the NRL will go more than another 1-2 weeks but good on them for giving it a go.

I’m guessing players will test positive at some time and it will get shut down. However, the players are young and strong and the risk to them is minimal…. plus they have a choice. There are far greater risks by keeping schools and shops open. Good on the NRL for not following everyone else. As one of the few sports running they will get some good publicity. Hopefully it lasts for a while so there is something to follow.

I would be very surprised if it was to go ahead. At best it would be with no spectators. You only have to look at Italy to see how the virus expands when a lot of people from many countries come in contact. I’d love to see the Olympics but it’s simply not worth it.

Actually, under Rule 41.5 “Deliberate distraction, deception or obstruction of batsman” it wasn’t fine. It didn’t really create any issue, but if there was a run out it probably wouldn’t have been out as a result of Boults actions (41.5.4).

You can only beat who your scheduled to play, can’t be England or India every series. Australia went for a good decade beating almost everyone… good to see us getting back to winning ways. Just need an all rounder and another couple of top order batsmen.

Imagine if Paine let Warner get the 400, then there was more rain, more Pakistan resistance and the match was a draw. WELL DONE TIM PAINE, the teams policy is team first and that’s what he stuck to despite the pressure. There is a championship of test cricket that these results go to. Australia want to be in the final at Lords starting June 2021. That’s more important then 400 against a weak team.

WATCH THE REPLAY PEOPLE. Asu Kepaoa was on the sideline, then ran almost directly infield to get in the way of Feldt who happens to be the Cowboys best jumper. Kepaoa wasn’t trying to get the ball. Humans have a peripheral vision angle of about 170 degrees. It was intentional and the interference rule (rightly or wrongly) is black and white as the cowboys found out against the Sharks.
2 weeks ago we were complaining that the refs didn’t have the guts to penalise Ben Hunt in the last play of the game. Here they made the correct decision and still get criticized.
