Yep, feel for Joe.

Nic White could get Super Rugby AU run after returning to Brumbies

ALL comps have winners and losers. It is cyclic. If a domestic format happens, we add in a few teams and maybe Japan and a PI side. Leave the Kiwis to financially sink after a year or 2.

More, not fewer, Australia-based Super Rugby teams are needed to save the game

OOR, I rate Slipper as the best LHP in Australia, followed by Sio (when he plays well like last night) and AAA, the best THP (but he is down on form a bit). Taniela is a close, very close second. To me Slipper, Sio, FF and all a constant but the locks are the biggest problem. Rory was a huge loss to the Brums and Wallabies. “Pot Plant” Palmer isn’t the issue. I reckon Sio , AAA and particularly Slipper have forgotten more than Dan knew.

Brumbies deny Waratahs in thriller

Brums fortunate to get the win but quality teams seem to do that. Set piece was terrible. The fault seems to be the locks. Sio had his best game for years and Muirhead was great. For the Tahs, Simmons and KHunt were very good as was HJH. Tahs scrum surprised many.
Exciting and close game.

Brumbies deny Waratahs in thriller

Having a Board comprised of single issue, self interest groups such as women’s, sevens etc will never work. The current system is OK, you just need quality people on it whose objective views are for the betterment of rugby.

How to fix Australian rugby, Part 8: All aboard

Lance is a good Super level player covering all backline positions or her than half and wings. A terrific lad to be in your team, either starting or bench. I don’t think he is quite good enough to be a Wallaby, in any position.

Has COVID-19 gifted Lance a Wallaby lifeline?

Maybe do a Packer deal.

Rugby Australia coy after NZ announce preferred Super Rugby format

Maybe RA should have a 10 team competition. 5 Aussie sides, 1 x Jap, 1 x Poly and 3 NEW NZ sides.

Rugby Australia coy after NZ announce preferred Super Rugby format

Thanks for the read. Very entertaining. It’s a fine line between genius and insanity !

Four more years: Season 1, Episode 1

Only agree with your selections at 1, 2, 4, 5, 7 (ATM) and 8.
Wilson has first be selected and cement his place before any serious thoughts of captaincy are valid. He looks good to me in a couple of years time (as a captain but I don’t know his leadership qualities).

Super Rugby AU Round 3 teams: Banks back for Brumbies, Tahs send young guns to the bench

Not really. AAA got penalised about 3 times for going early and FF for standing up. Ref was rubbish. Bell will be better with experience. Like the kids attitude.

Super Rugby AU Round 3 teams: Banks back for Brumbies, Tahs send young guns to the bench

Jeremy, another great article in your Series. Lots to agree with, and lots to disagree. What is not disputable is your passion for our game and your tireless research and well thought out writings.
Thanks heaps.

How to fix Australian rugby, Part 7: Media strategy

Fair enough. Let them play with themselves.

New Zealand in box seat to host Rugby Championship

Sh.t on Liver

Super Rugby AU Round 3 teams: Banks back for Brumbies, Tahs send young guns to the bench

It’s smart to put Bell in the bench. He got flogged by Taniela and would probably be the same against AAA, FF and Slipper. Give him 20 at the backend when the Brums get a bit tired. Market Mark lucky to even be on bench.
Reds very shallow with Scott Young as a lock. Reds back row should be a highlight.

Super Rugby AU Round 3 teams: Banks back for Brumbies, Tahs send young guns to the bench

Pretty simple. Ready had starred most of the prior year before the Reds signed an “over the hill” Moore. Ready shunted to bench and got SOL. His immaturity showed and downhill he went. Moore was rubbish, but the damage was done. Shame really!

Super Rugby AU Round 3 teams: Banks back for Brumbies, Tahs send young guns to the bench

AJ, probably so but I’m an Aussie only interested in Aussie Rugby and when the Wallabies play. I am tribal!
I have MY team but would prefer to watch the other 4 Aussie teams in preference to NZ, SA, Japanese etc club games. Anyway, each to their own.

Super Rugby Week 6: Choose your own disappointment

Head says Reds, heart says Force. Brumbies over the Tahs.
The games in our far eastern States don’t matter at all so I don’t even view them !

Super Rugby Week 6: Choose your own disappointment

Thorn is a poor coach with a poor record. The Force had the wood on the Reds in the last couple of years before they got dumped. I fear that a few years out of Super will make it difficult for the Force to win. They will be very competitive however.
Go the Force (anyway).

Reds facing Force is a fight to look forward to

Keep GL as a generalisation but retain the option (If the OS player wants to) of selecting a player or 2 of national interest. There is only a few guys that would walk into a Wallabies team. Arnold for sure, possibly Latu, Skelton, Kerevi. Think time has passed for Gilly and even McMahon. GL doesn’t have to be fair but use it and exceptions to ensure we field the best possible team.

How to fix Australian rugby, Part 5: Winning more games

Why we have such good throwers from the Reds and Rebels to fall back on. FF must be laughing at this stage.
Seriously, I agree with Latu.

How to fix Australian rugby, Part 5: Winning more games

There us prob ably only 3 players that would really be selected from overseas. Skelton, Arnold and Keerevi. Leave the Giteau Law intact with some exceptions.

Winning fixes all. Playing the ABs and Boks so often makes it difficult .

How to fix Australian rugby, Part 5: Winning more games

I think the “advantage” needs to be 10 seconds or 10 metres. Any kick ends the advantage.

Easy fixes to improve rugby refereeing

OOR, yep. Think both are in the Players of Interest “squad”. That’s a start any way. Let’s see how they continue in our competition.

Does Dave Rennie opt for youth or experience in 2020?

If NZ don’t want our 5 teams and play in a Trans Tasman bubble, so be it. They should have their own domestic competition after adding another 6 or 7 teams. They would be broke quickly. The viewing audience would be minimal in NZ.

The Wrap: Rugby Australia must resist being drawn into New Zealand’s spider web
