Big Mal was my be of my favourite players as a kid, for all the reasons you just stated.

When will Wayne Bennett be a Hall of Famer and an Immortal?

I wonder if Big Mal’s coaching career for QLD contributed, even in some small way, to him being named an immortal? If so, a coaching category in our Hall of Fame in some ways already has precedence.

When will Wayne Bennett be a Hall of Famer and an Immortal?

The dogs and storm have every right to be furious about the measly penalties handed to the eels and sharks.

Storm CEO throws shade at old NRL regime over salary cap penalties

Here’s the thing- JDB is still getting paid. There’s your presumption of innocence. Geez I would love to get paid $50k a month AND have all that time off work to fight any charges levelled at me. The NRL is damned if they do and damned if they don’t.

Rugby league’s new line in the sand means Vexed Times at Ridgemont High

Lodge has done MORE than most in his path to redemption

Do NRL redemption stories push a false narrative?

Thank you for this. It needs to be said. Loudly and often.

The NRL has enough problems without media-manufactured crises

Wow.
Actually, I don’t mind a good conspiracy theory sometimes, tell us more?

Who are NRL HQ's least to most favourite teams?

Born in Ipswich the same year the Mighty Ipswich Jets (re) joined the competition, it was playing the game that predominantly hooked me in. There wasn’t a great deal of interest in the NSW comp in my house as a kid, but we watched origin religiously and Wally Lewis terrorising the blues was magic to see. We were a RAAF family so the first time I actually played was for the Wagga kangaroos and I loved it immediately. We moved back the year the Broncos joined the NSWRL and interest in the southern comp grew from that. I met Alfie and the Walters boys a couple times, Alfie’s mum still ran the canteen at Ipswich norths. Going to Lang park and then ANZ as a kid with the electric atmosphere (and the freebies they threw into the crowd) were amazing times. Playing on the Jets ground at North Ipswich reserve and the Broncos dominance of the NSW comp for that first decade before the National competition was created, all these things contributed to loving the greatest game on earth.

What made you fall in love with rugby league?

What a fabulously inaccurate bunch of sour grapes. Thanks for putting this up I devastatingly missed it last time

All Sydney clubs should thank the Melbourne Storm

Simply more proof that the Broncos “advantages” are a myth created by sour minnows, so they have something else to whinge about while ignoring their own responsibilities

What happened to the Broncos?

Bronco “advantages” is a myth created by the daily telegraph and perpetuated by ignorant fools to hide both the disaster that is rugby league in Sydney and the real responsibility for that disaster which is the clubs themselves and the refusal to let go of the suburban competition mentality and nostalgia.

Third Party Agreements: Should they be limited or scrapped altogether?

Sam Thaiday owns a cafe/restaurant, the income from that is effectively a third party payment. Any paid interviews, show hosting or events by players with the media ie 9, fox or otherwise would also be 3rd party payments. Hell investment properties or stock portfolios would generate 3rd party income and you’re also telling the younger players who are halfway through a trade that they can’t finish if they start playing footy.

Clubs can’t provide these, that’s the line that can’t be crossed. How would you like to be told you’re not allowed to get a second job? Same thing. It’s some fan’s ignorance of what TPP’s are that needs to be scrapped not the TPP’s themselves.

Third Party Agreements: Should they be limited or scrapped altogether?

This type of ignorance makes me laugh

Can the Brisbane Broncos make the finals in 2019?

Every year we hear this same wishful thinking about the Broncos struggling and maybe missing the 8. It’s true they struggled the last few years, but I haven’t been this confident about a top 4 spot since the end of the 2014 season.

Can the Brisbane Broncos make the finals in 2019?

Pmsl @ “the heartbeat of rugby league is Sydney”! This is the problem with the game, the ball and chain around it’s neck, the reason we lose ground. Dumbest comment I’ve read in ages.

Think relocation is a terrible idea? Let's do what we do with other terrible ideas: Try it out

Having 9 teams representing the same location in a national competition is a far more stupid idea than relocation

Think relocation is a terrible idea? Let's do what we do with other terrible ideas: Try it out

Spot on.

This is the first decent thing this administration has done, let’s hope it sticks. But the NRL is far from innocent, this situation is created by having an over saturation of teams representing the same location in a national competition. It will keep happening until that is fixed.

Don’t blame the NRL for your club’s bad deeds

The greatest league coach of all time will unfortunately take Souths to a premiership, he took the broncos there 6 times, he took the dragons there within two years. Newcastle was a basket case before WB got there, Newcastle should be embarrassed that they would fail under the best tutelage in the world.

Bit of class Wayne, that's all we Novocastrians ask

If rugby league conspiracy theories were organised in order of the stupidity required to believe in them, Wayne Bennet being the cause of the Knights troubles ranks near the top. You know what type of fan you are talking to when they advocate that rubbish

Hey Wayne, Newcastle regrets you too

This article is nothing more than an outline of your own personal biases, snore.

Salary cap? C'mon, we all know why we hate today's grand finalists

Sydney is their home.

The NRL actually got this week's finals fixture right

Rellum you are right in assuming that NRL record keeping is inaccurate, but I’m not sure including Brisbane’s first grade results is the way to fix it. I think NRL results and records should start with the NRL, the same way Super League results do in England. All results prior to that should be classed as NSW and QLD state titles, as is reality. If the NRL wants to truly be a national sport it should include all the results in the official records not just half of them.

Happy birthday to the greatest game of all

As a Brisbane boy it should be prudent to include Rugby League history in its entirety in an article like this, not just the HALF of history that everyone knows about.

“Discussion about breaking away from the rugby ‘union’ and forming a professional ‘league’ in Queensland can be traced as far back as 1905 through the visions of then Deputy State Premier, Michael Allison.”

Happy birthday to the greatest game of all

So many people wish with such fervour that the Broncos would implode, that the rumour making, tabloid writing, muck rakers were able to get away completely fabricating a crisis, and the masses gobbled it up. In the end they were made to look quite stupid, hilarious really.

What the hell do Benny and Baz know that the rest of us don't?

People have been watching Gould for years and his egomaniac, agenda driven and narcissistic ways have been on show for all to see. He has the Penrith club completely under his control so criticism of him and the club are one and the same.
Gould is a cancer to the NRL and he’s using the panthers to grow that. Until they get rid of him any criticism directed at the club is valid.

Anthony Griffin isn't the victim in the Penrith saga
