With all due respect, I am older than you and I have seen players leap in the air to try and touch or smother a ball for over 70 years. Your idea of a smother is only for when the ball is kicked in near proximity. My understanding is that Maynard has been charged due to a political act by a certain female AFL official. If he is suspended, heaven help anyone who leaves the ground to try and smother, touch, spoil, punch or even mark the ball. The momentum of both players was the major contributing factor and the footage seems to show that Maynards right hand was attempting to touch the ball.

The Adelaide camp sounds like a fiasco of massive proportions but perhaps it is being exaggerated also. It appears obvious though that in this day and age, many people are just a bit too precious and mentally weak. The players were probably lucky that they weren’t called up for National Service or joined one of the services.

Paulo… Don’t be confused by the legal ploys involved in settlement disputes and mediation. Folau and his legal team were never after that amount. They were after an apology and a settlement based on half that amount and they were pretty successful in obtaining both their aims.

The proposed Religious Discrimination laws are a direct result of the attacks waged on those who opposed SSM and will fix the anomaly that religion was somehow not included in previous federal anti-discrimination legislation. The legislation will also protect atheists and agnostics like myself.

EastFootyFan……Folau is a part time minister of religion and has an obligation and a right to spread the word of his God. As far as the public record is concerned, I would rather accept his version of events in lieu of certain RU officials. The gay community pushes their agenda along with the animal rights groups, the women’s rights groups, the aboriginal groups, the vegans organisations, the #me too# movement etc etc. However, for some reason, most of the hate is directed at a few Christians who happen to be part of the sporting community past and present. I would suggest that the word bigot is more appropriate for those haters than for someone like me who just likes to see fairness. ie: impartial and just treatment or behaviour without favouritism or discrimination.
