Strange comment by one of the writers calling to the Eagles diabolical when travelling. Apart from last year when we hovered around 13 to 17 injured players every single week, when were we diabolical? I hope we win by a point after the siren just to wipe the smirk off

Go the mighty Eagles

Daicos in the guts, Gawndy's first run and new coaches galore: Ten things to watch out for in AFL pre-season matches

Good story. I agree there is eager anticipation for the Eagles this year , they have some great young kids on the park mixed with legends of the game . My tip is just out of the 8 this year then getting even better next year. We’re coming!!

'Unfinished business': Ross Lyon explains return as St Kilda coach - and how an AFL legend helped convince him to go back

I thought it was pretty smart by the Eagles to strategize for 2 picks instead of 1 inside 30, plus Rioli going to Port is no biggie, he’s been very mediocre the past few years. Eagles will have Chesser as a newbie and Hunt added to start with before we hit the draft. Young guns like Westy, JJ, Edwards, Allen, Sheed, Yeo ECT.. will start to form a good side the competitive mighty West Coast normally is

Good riddance to Rioli, port can put up with his mediocre performances and immature mistakes

I hope the Eagles find another one of a kind Judd or Kennedy in the draft. We already have some good young talent plus Chesser and Hunt to go with the club legends.

Who won the biggest AFL trade ever? Ranking all four clubs involved in epic sixteen-move MEGA-trade

Pretty smart by the Eagles. I first thought it was stupid to lose pick 2 but we gained 2 early picks , 8 and 12 plus very early picks for next year, and we already have Hunt plus Chesser as newbies. So 3 years we will be kicking the door down of the top 8 or 4

I hope bullys win by a point. Flopmantle will blame everything except themselves for the loss

The top eight rated: Which teams can actually win the flag?

Your comment is totally irrelevant to my comment about free kick Hawthorn. It’s hard to win when the opposition continue get soft frees in front of goal no matter how hard you try to win. Free kick Hawthorn continues from 4 years ago, nothing’s changed

AFL takeaways: How your club fared in Round 18

Hawthorn rely on frees in front of goal to win games. 5 to breust explains everything. Zero talent

Hawks also victimised Chris Lewis at West Coast by Brereton given the ok by the coach to do so. Filthy club with questionable ethics going back a long time . Free kick hawthorn

'We are sorry': Hawks respond to bombshell Cyril Rioli reveal on Jeff Kennett comment that saw him leave the club

Correct decision. Look at the vision, it shows Rioli going for the mark and turned his body for the impact. If he wasn’t going for a mark, I would agree the outcome would be different. But it’s clear he was so it’s a no brainer , move on

AFL NEWS: No appeal despite Rioli dodging ban but Thomas says tribunal got it right, Bomber grounded

A positive loss for the Eagles. 14 players unavailable but the kids played very well and took it right up to the improved suns, and look to have a bright future at the club. Not all doom and gloom as first thought

What your club can take away from Round 1

Settle down dunstall, you have a short memory. If Rioli was a vic youd be laughing saying it was a fair bump

With legendary Subi coach Schofield at the club there will be major improvements in the game plan and attitudes. Rioli back is a huge bonus and some good kids coming through we should be back in the finals.
