This is a very tough All Blacks 23. With 4 line-out jumpers plus Ardie Savea at the tail (and Tuipulotu off the bench), we’re signalling to Eddie-the-mouth that we’ll be contesting their line-outs. He’ll now have to decide whether to start with just Laws and Itoje (Curry and Underhill don’t count in the line-out leaping stakes), or start Kruis and drop Laws to the bench. I don’t think EtM will drop Underhill for Laws at 6 just to have 3 jumpers in the run-on 15, although he might just do it now that he’s had 5 hours to study the All Blacks 23.
These AB forwards were selected to confront and go head-to-head with the poms, so there’ll be some fireworks in the first 20-30 minutes. This is the only time the NH and SH heavyweights meet in a neutral venue when both sides are not suffering fatigue from their normal seasons. This is especially true of the All Blacks with the abridged Rugby Championship and the mandated stand-down rests for the ABs during Super Rugby. The result is a squad of 31 who are fresh, fit and focused…

All Blacks spring make surprising line-up change for semi-final against England

Yep, the same one. Gave him a 20-metre head start and ran him down. And that was when Tuilagi was apparently faster than Bolt 😂

All Blacks vs England will be one of the greatest rugby matches ever

This is a great selection by Hansen – starting with 4 line-out options (Retallick, Whitelock, Barrett, Read), with Tuipulotu off the bench to maintain the 4 jumping options. Pressure now on EtM to decide whether to start with Laws or bring in Kruis and drop Laws to the bench – but he’ll still only have his 2 locks to secure their line-outs, with 2 relatively small 6 & 7 and a fat 8 who nobody can lift!!
We’re going to contest the pom throw-ins and their scrums…

All Blacks vs England will be one of the greatest rugby matches ever

Mitchell was the worst coach we ever had, and he ruined and prematurely ended great All Blacks careers for the best Fullback we’ve had Christian Cullen, etc. and by playing a lot of players out of position.

And he is the only ABs ex-coach who has coached a Tier-1 opponent of the ABs – something which all ex-coaches refuse to do. That’s why Wayne Smith continues to turn down big money offers from the RFU, Wales, etc.

And bigger than Bridge which is why I believe he would have scored when bridge was hauled down by the smaller Earls.

Now you’re just being childish…

Tuilagi is one hard tackle away from being injured out of the game – again! Savea will be tasked with greeting him all night.

All Blacks vs England will be one of the greatest rugby matches ever

I was really disappointed at Aussies’ performance against England, after picking them to beat the poms. Looking at the stats from the Wallabies-England game last week, the WBs enjoyed all the key KPIs: Possession, Territory, Carries, Runs, etc. – enough to have won in a canter!! The only stat the poms dominated was the Kicking (731-metres to WBs 391 metres) which was to be expected with Farrell at 10 and usually standing deep to kick all week!! I’m’hoping they kick as much on Saturday but I have a feeling they won’t, with Beauden at Fullback and Mo’unga dropping back in support with further support from one of the wings. If Ford starts at 10, then they’ll try to live off his box-kicks for as long as he’s on the pitch, with Farrell at 12, Tuilagi 13 to drop Slade to the bench and drop Joseph altogether.

Another change the poms need to consider is a replacement Fullback as Daly was useless, so they’ll either move Watson to 15 and bring Cokanasiga into the wing (unlikely) or more likely Jack Nowell. Personally, I’d have Piers Francis at Fullback where he played some great matches for the Auckland Blues.

When you consider all the selection headaches Eddie-the-mouth has to wrestle with, I know which of the two opposing caoches is under more pressure….

…and it’s not Hansen 👍

All Blacks vs England will be one of the greatest rugby matches ever

England will make a big mistake if they come on trying to bully the AB forwards – the first 25-30 minutes will be brutal, with the ABs ratcheting up the pace to stress the poms.

I’m expecting Tuipulotu instead of Frizell to be on the bench to replace Matt Todd. With him and Scotty Barrett coming off the bench, the run-on loosies will provide all the covers they need for the 2nd row and loosies, with Barrett and Tuipulotu able to slip easily into 6 or 8.

George Bridge didn’t do much against Ireland. In fact, he had 3 runs down the sideline with plenty of room to manipulate his marker but was brought down each time by a physically smaller Keith Earls (1.78m/87kgs) – I believe Rieko Ioane would have scored with the same opportunities. Rieko may replace Bridge as he can also move into the centres if needed, opening up other options for Hansen on the bench. If there were to be another change, maybe SBW to start to neutralise Tuilagi and Lienert-Brown off the bench for the last 30 minutes. Otherwise, the same team from the QF.

Someone should tell Eddie-the-mouth to save his energy trying to play mind games against Steve Hansen – he wrote the book on stirring up opposition coaches. Now his players are getting in on the act 😛 . The more he waffles on about pressure on the All Blacks, the more he applies reverse pressure on his own players.

All Blacks by 20+ and South Africa by 17 for an all-SANZAAR RWC Final.

All Blacks vs England will be one of the greatest rugby matches ever

Dublin Dave forgets that our Nige is the All Black’s 24th man on the pitch… 😂

Law of averages could be a worry for New Zealand

The All Blacks will go into this match very motivated, remembering the 17th November 2018 loss in Dublin. And they will be equally as brutal as they were in the Dublin return match following the Chicago loss, a match the Irish scribes and some supporters are still whining about over the All Blacks’ “aggression”.

I’ve got the All Blacks by 20+, and Australia by 13 over the Poms.

Law of averages could be a worry for New Zealand

O’Sullivan again: “Joe’s got a very predictable, very solid, very experienced XV, compared to the All Blacks XV which is not as experienced and I would say not quite as solid.”

I guess 750+ caps in the run-on 15 plus another 250+ off the bench is severely lacking in “experience”!!

Law of averages could be a worry for New Zealand

She could end up at the Auckland Blues with their useless CEO Michael Redman leaving!! Hope not..

Mickey Mouse evidently applied, according to some Aussie former Wallaby.. 😂

The Wrap: Devious New Zealand plot to destroy Australian rugby exposed

If truth be known, the ARU probably needs a coach who understands the culture and motivations for the Pacific Island players. Regrettably, another ARU (Auckland Rugby) have failed to address the same issues for the Auckland Blues…

Hahaha…well done. I’ve got the Wallabies playing South Africa in the Quarter Final before facing the All Blacks in the Final.

Territory and possession statistic for Ireland tends to support the claim. You can read them for yourself..

South Africa's capitulation and what's up with the All Blacks?

Have never had any issues with Hola…

The Wallabies could win a Grand Slam and angry fans might not see it

Top 10 from the World Rugby ranking, which coincidentally comprises 5 x NH and 5 x SH teams:
SH
1: NZ
3 Australia
3 SA
9: Argentina
10 Fiji
NH
2: England
5 Wales
6 Ireland
7 France
8 Scotland

Head-to-head makes the results even more convincingly in favour of SH.

Southern hemisphere dominance is starting to wane

Nice headaches to have. There’ll be a few injuries between now and 2019 which will change the landscape..

Being better All Blacks than the All Blacks - can it be done?

That’s pretty much my selection, except I thought Luatua might have made it to the bench but the boss obviously wants to blood Scotty Barrett early so all good.

Naholo and Savea together could light some Guy Faulkes fireworks in Chicago. This could be a cricket score if the Irish match-fitness is lacking.

Rieko Ioane will surpass Crotty by 2019.
