The Utah Jazz have already handed out one drubbing to an NBL team and will look to make it two against an unpredictable Adelaide 36ers outfit. Join The Roar for live scores and coverage from 11am (AEST).

The 36ers come into the NBL season as one of the favourites, and after adding Adris De Leon to their roster during the off-season, they will certainly have the talent on the edge of the perimeter they haven’t had since losing Jerome Randle.

Ramone Moore, Nathan Sobey and Daniel Johnson will form the nucleus back for another season, and Johnson has a huge role to play in this game.

Utah’s best player is Rudy Gobert. The big centre can flip a game in a matter of minutes if he picks a mismatch in the paint, and there will be times he has one during this game.

While Johnson and Majok Deng are both capable big men, stepping up to the level of Gobert will be another challenge in itself.

If Gobert dominates in the paint, it normally makes life easier on the perimeter, and that’ll create space for sharp shooters like Joe Ingles, Dane Exum and Ricky Rubio, while Donovan Mitchell will be able to weave his magic.

After belting the Perth Wildcats by 58 points last week, we know for a fact Utah are ruthless and will run up another score here if given the chance.

Adelaide, as mentioned, need to compete in the paint and then hope De Leon and fellow guard and Australian Boomer Nathan Sobey have huge outings on the perimeter.

Prediction
The 36ers will be one of the stronger NBL sides this season, there is no doubting that. They have players who will be able to hang on the NBA floor as well, with De Leon and Johnson needing to lead the way, but shutting down Gobert will be an issue and the Jazz should be able to kick away a few times during this match and build something of a decent win.

Jazz by 15.
