Aussie's brutal KO secures chance at WBA title

Australian fighter Andrew Moloney is set to have his first crack at securing a world title after winning his debut overseas fight in Chile.

Moloney, 28, downed Miguel Gonzalez with a ferocious pair of left shots during the eighth round of the fight.

The man nicknamed ‘The Monster’, whose undefeated professional record improved to 19 with the win, will next take on the victor out of WBA super flyweight champion Khalid Yafai and Norbelto Jimenez for his own shot at the belt, having moved up the rankings.
