Joseph Parker's brutal third-round KO of Alexander Flores

Kiwi fighter Joseph Parker has bounced back after a pair of defeats, downing Alexander Flores in the third round of their heavyweight bout.

After winning the first 22 fights of his career, Parker suffered consecutive setbacks, losing to two of the biggest names in boxing in Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte this year.

However, Parker was clearly desperate to make amends and didn’t take long to get back to winning ways against Flores.

Yet the 26-year-old’s victory didn’t come without controversy, with his knockdown of Flores earlier in the third round appearing to have been set up by a low blow which went unpunished.

After Flores regathered himself and got to his feet, Parker then made the most of his momentum and put the fight beyond doubt.

Earlier on in the night, former New Zealand Warriors winger Manu Vatuvei had caused a stir, with a 28-second KO of his own in his professional boxing debut.
