The Melbourne Renegades will hope to get their first ever win in Western Australia when they travel to face the Perth Scorchers on Monday night. Join The Roar for live scores and a blog of the match, starting from 9:15pm AEDT.

The hunt for the finals officially is on and almost every team is feeling a bit nervous as they push for BBL glory.

After a stop-start campaign, the Renegades have finally seemed to pull themselves together and their batting has begun to click.

Although Aaron Finch and Marcus Harris have come in to bolster the Renegades run-machine, it is their formidable duo of Sam Harper and Tom Cooper that often laid the platform for competitive scores.

Currently they hold the record for the highest third-wicket partnership, an imposing stand of 106 against a hapless Brisbane Heat side.

Cameron White has also found some serious form, smashing 40 off 29 balls in the Renegades’ last clash with the Sydney Thunder, which indicates that some substantial depth in the batting is starting to show.

Meanwhile the Perth Scorchers, who were three-time winners of the BBL, have had a shocking campaign. They are a shadow of their former glory days.

With seven losses for the tournament, their finals hopes are all but dashed unless they can secure huge victories in their remaining three games to salvage a miniscule berth into the top four.

In their last outing against the Renegades, they lost in lacklustre fashion, as a score of just 103 was never going to seriously the likes of Mohammad Nabi, Dan Christian and Cameron White.

They should look to cause an upset tonight and send a few shivers into the Renegades dressing room, as second, third and fourth place are still all up for grabs in the finals BBL countdown.

Ashton Turner should be the key man for the Scorchers with the bat. He’s currently sixth on the highest run-getters for this season, average a healthy 38.25 with the willow.

Andrew Tye and Nathan Coulter-Nile really must step up with the ball as well, as it has often been a big worry for the Scorchers.

Both players have international experience and need to perform at full capacity to topple this rampaging Renegades team.

Prediction
The Melbourne Renegades should win this one comfortably unless a serious brain-fade with the batting occurs.

They have been prone to sudden batting collapses at various points in this season. The Scorchers need to exploit this if they want a confidence-boosting win.

Otherwise, Cameron White and Mohammad Nabi should be able to steer the Renegades ship easily if they encounter any batting wobbles again.
