The strangest hit wicket dismissal in professional cricket history

Making sure your shoes are firmly tied up is always a good idea, but who knew it could cost you your wicket in cricket?

Bangladeshi tailender Taijul Islam had toiled away with the bat for 49 balls when he was forced onto the back foot by Sri Lankan bowler Suranga Lakmal.

Islam calmly defended the ball towards cover but in the process his back foot dragged along the ground and his boot slipped off and hit the stumps.

The wicket ended Bangladesh’s first innings as Sri Lanka took a big lead in the 2nd Test.
