After a horrid few weeks to start the year, Sydney FC shook off the horrible vibes and got themselves in a very turned on mood.

They have won four matches on the trot, which is something that usually isn’t Sydney’s forte.

And we can’t just put this down to Alessandro Del Peiro…everyone is stepping up.

Farina has done something magical that has made these boys unite and want to play and fight for each other.

As a Sydney supporter, the team unity has been a great sight to behold.

And to even continue the good fortunes of late, the news that Tiago Calvano has been suspended for eight matches is another step in the right direction.

I think the reason we are clicking is because Frank Farina has finally found the vision and direction he wants this club to go in, and he has instilled that vision into his players through trust, and loyalty to selection.

The boys have all stood up.

Vedran has been real solid and Seb Ryall has just been something else this season.

He’s matured, and he is putting in consistent performances.

Over the seasons consistency has been the one thing that has bogged down his game.

It is so great that he has challenged this flaw, and come good.

Petkovic has improved at a good rate, while Abbas has been surprisingly good.

I’ve really enjoyed Chris Naumoff in the Starting XI. He has injected some much needed pace, and attacking potency to the side.

His touch, composure and maturity has been a great sight to behold, and at 18 years of age there is hopefully so much goodness yet to come.

The signing of Despotovic has been a revelation, he adds a little bit of spice, a little bit of good uncertainty, and a little bit of soaring Balkan power to the Sydney FC attack.

But the two who have really stepped up their game is Joel Chianese and Michael Carrick’s old mate – Richie Garcia.

Joel Chianese is always the first person Sydney fans turn to inflict blame, but the best thing Farina has done for his game is giving him full run of it.

His touch, and movement have improved from season’s past, and this might the one season this promising Italian Bambi finally asserts his place at the club and fulfils his potential.

What’s exciting about Farina’s uprising is that its only Round 8, after the gloom of the first few rounds, this tidal change has been a welcome one.

And the belief has been instilled back into the supporters, not just because we are winning but because Franky’s boys are playing for each other.

There is a long way yet to go, but with the continuation of whatever is making this resurgence occur, and the stability of the current side, the team will be a dominant force and contender for this season’s prize.
