After beginning their season with an encouraging win over the Cowboys, things have been utterly disastrous since for the Broncos. They’ve lost 16 of 17 since the season resumed, including the last ten in a row, and will collect a first wooden spoon in club history with a loss this evening.
North Queensland have had a similarly disappointing campaign, however. Coming into 2020 with designs on a return to finals, they’ve instead been a massive letdown. After starting 3-3, a nine-game losing streak sealed their fate and will almost certainly finish 14th – an unacceptable result.
Round 1’s win made it three straight for the Broncos over the Cowboys and five of the previous six. The Cowboys have a rubbish record at Suncorp Stadium, losing on nine of their last ten visits.
