The Canterbury Bulldogs are in desperate need of points, let alone a win, but both will be hard to come by against the Melbourne Storm. Stay up to date with their NRL clash with live scores on The Roar from 5:30pm (AEST).
The last three matches have been nothing short of a disaster for the Bulldogs. Getting thumped by Penrith and South Sydney was always on the cards, but a heavy loss to Brisbane was really poor and the fact they’ve failed to score a point in three straight games is almost unbelievable. If they fail to trouble the scorers again tonight, they will break the NRL record for consecutive scoreless matches.
Melbourne, on the other hand, bounced back in style from consecutive losses with a 40-6 demolition of the Brisbane Broncos. Having dropped narrow games to Parramatta and Penrith, question marks had emerged over whether the Storm were still in the NRL’s elite echelon – murmurs they decisively put to bed. They’ll want to send another reminder tonight.
The Storm have won their last five games in a row against the Bulldogs, including a 41-10 demolition in last year’s only meeting. These sides haven’t played at Stadium Australia since way back in 2013, however, a match Canterbury won 39-0.
