Both the Cronulla Sharks and North Queensland Cowboys will look to rebound from hefty losses last week when they do battle at Kogarah. Stay up to date with their NRL clash with live scores on The Roar from 5:15pm (AEDT).
They may have felt unlucky not to come away with a win against the Raiders two weeks ago, but there was no luck involved in Saturday’s loss to the Eels – Cronulla were just putrid. The Sharks barely threatened the Parramatta line all evening in a bruising 28-4 loss that brought them to earth with an almighty thud. With a tough fortnight coming up, getting back on the winners list is a must.
That’s nothing compared to what the Cowboys have served up, however. North Queensland crashed to their third loss in as many matches on Sunday after getting towelled up 44-8 at home by the Titans. New coach Todd Payten has been unafraid to rip into his team at press conferences and backed that up midweek by swinging the axe – he won’t be satisfied with anything but a vastly improved effort.
The Sharks were too good for the Cowboys on both occasions last year, winning 26-16 in Townsville at 28-12 at home. They’ve won five in a row against North Queensland, with their last loss coming in Round 1, 2018. The Cowboys have won just twice at Kogarah Oval – the last time being way back in 2003.
