The New Zealand Warriors are on the precipice of finals contention, but simply must beat the Canterbury Bulldogs to have any hope of keeping it that way. Tune in to the action from Queensland with live scores on The Roar from 1:50pm (AEST).

Last week’s thrilling 18-16 win over the Sharks has kept the Warriors alive… just. They’re still two games and a hefty points-differential margin out of the top 8, but have as good a draw as they could have hoped for to make a last-ditch play for the finals.

However, clashes with the bottom-two sides in the Bulldogs and Broncos are critical not just for wins, but to improve their differential; a single loss would be disastrous with four-point clashes with the Raiders and Titans still to come.

For the Bulldogs, a tumultuous first year in charge for Trent Barrett is nearly over. It wasn’t without yet more drama, however, with suspensions to Jack Hetherington and Dylan Napa leaving the Dogs in desperate need of players. Without the Raiders’ willingness to loan Ryan James and Corey Horsburgh for the next fortnight, who knows how things would have unfolded.

Dallin Watene-Zelezniak is officially out for the Warriors after failing an attempt to beat his one-match ban at the judiciary, with Edward Kosi likely to step in. He joins Kane Evans and Matthew Lodge on the sidelines through suspension, following the Will Chambers fiasco of Round 20.

In addition to the Raiders duo, Barrett has recalled Joe Stimson to the starting 17 for the Bulldogs, while Matt Doorey comes in for Corey Waddell.
