Things look ominous for the Canterbury Bulldogs as they prepare to take on the rampant Penrith Panthers on Saturday afternoon. Follow along with all the action from this top-versus-bottom battle right here The Roar, with live scores from 3pm (AEST).

After the brief high of beating the Sharks and ending their winless run, normal service has swiftly resumed for the Bulldogs. Even worse, victories for the Sharks and Broncos last week has left them marooned dead last on the table, with just one win; a full two games and 74 points worse than any other team.

Trent Barrett’s charges did put up a fight last week against the Titans after a rough start, but the 30-20 defeat probably sums up their level at the moment. In brighter news, captain Josh Jackson will return, as does prop Jack Hetherington, while the suspended Sione Katoa will be replaced at dummy-half by Jackon Topine. Dallin Watene-Zelezniak has also been named despite suffering a foot injury against the Titans.

The Panthers juggernaut just keeps rolling on, the undefeated side embarrassing the Rabbitohs with a 56-12 thrashing in Dubbo. They’re not quite at full strength, with Kurt Capewell to miss a week following a crusher tackle and Dylan Edwards still sidelined with a hamstring injury; but Ivan Cleary’s men have looked a cut above nearly everyone in the NRL this season, and the Dogs are far from a contender.

It would be almost the upset of the century if the Bulldogs could somehow manage a win here. Who thinks they can do it?
