The South Sydney Rabbitohs will look to continue their strong start to the season and heap more misery on the struggling Gold Coast Titans in the final game of Round 3. Join The Roar for live scores and coverage from 6:10pm (AEDT).

The Titans have had a woeful start to the season, scoring just six points across the first two games as they were first beaten and held to nothing by the Canberra Raiders, then got thumped by the Cronulla Sharks away from home last weekend.

They have been anything but good, and while the loss of Ashley Taylor hasn’t helped them through the first couple of rounds, the excuses stop there.

Their defence has been poor, ball handling even worse, and given the way they have played, it’s no surprise the Titans are sitting at the bottom of the table with only a single try to their name.

Things won’t get any easier this week either, with Nathan Peats ruled out through a torn pectoral muscle. He is going to miss at least six weeks of footy, and the former Origin player’s absence is only going to make things worse for the Titans on the defensive side of the coin.

On paper at least, this could be nothing more than a training run for the Rabbitohs, who have started life under Wayne Bennett like a house on fire.

The Rabbitohs belted defending premiers the Sydney Roosters in Round 1, then had a stunning second half last weekend against the St George Illawarra Dragons to charge away with a huge win at Kogarah.

The Cardinal and Myrtle have played an up-tempo sort of game, and while it’s not the same style as they played last year, they have dominated through their forwards, defended strongly, and attacked with vigour right across the park, looking dangerous.

Given they have ran up solid scores against a couple of good defensive teams in the Roosters and Dragons, on the surface, this could be a cricket score as the Titans fight to try and not start the season with no wins from their first three games.

Prediction
The Rabbitohs are all over the Titans on paper, and it’d be a shock if they don’t come away with a big win over the Titans, who don’t look like showing any signs of improvement.

Rabbitohs by 24.
