The St George Illawarra Dragons host the Canberra Raiders at WIN Stadium in Round 17 of the NRL. Join The Roar from 6:10pm (AEST) for live scores and coverage from Wollongong.

Both of these sides will be desperate for a win. St George Illawarra went down to Melbourne last weekend and sit in 12th spot, four points out of the top eight.

If the Red V is to make a charge into the finals they need to do it now. Time is getting away from them.

Canberra had last weekend off and will be fresh for this game. Their last match was a disappointing one in Darwin where they went down to Parramatta.

The Raiders are sitting pretty in fourth on 20 points. But a victory could see them leapfrog the Roosters and Rabbitohs into second place. Ricky Stuart will demand a reaction and this is the sort of game they need to win if they are to be premiership contenders in 2019.

The Dragons had a number of players involved in Origin and will be hoping they return to club football with renewed impetus.

Tyson Frizell, Paul Vaughan and Ben Hunt have all been listed among the reserves while Queensland debutant Corey Norman is in the starting side.

Tariq Sims returns from suspension and his brother Korbin moves to the bench. James Graham is also among the reserves as he continues his recovery from a broken leg.

Canberra have received a boost with winger Nick Cotric named to return from an ankle injury.

Maroons forward Josh Papalii has been selected to back up after Origin.

Prediction
The Green Machine have had the bye and will be stewing after their collapse in the NT. With only two players involved in Origin, they should be ready to fire and respond with purpose from that stunning Eels lapse.

Raiders to win by 10 points.
