The Sydney Roosters will attempt to make it a 2019 regular season shut out of the Melbourne Storm when the NRL heads to Adelaide for the third straight year. Join The Roar for live scores and coverage from 7:55pm (AEST).

The grand final rematch hits for the second time this year, and it’s promising to be a belter of a game.

The Roosters don’t have their backs to the wall, but there is enough uncertainty around the club with Latrell Mitchell’s situation and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves sitting on the sideline to make you question whether they will be able to get up for this game.

They also have Boyd Cordner and James Tedesco – two of their best – coming back into the side after Origin 2 on Sunday night, which was a tough affair in difficult conditions in Perth.

Melbourne aren’t free from the Origin bug either with Cameron Munster and Felise Kaufusi leading their charge of players on the big stage, but the club looks settled, and they are really beginning to hit their stride.

They will also have revenge on the mind after being beaten by a golden point field goal at home in the match these sides played a couple of months ago.

The Storm come into this game though having won five on the trot, by a combined score of 182 to 52, which gives you a real idea of just how well they are starting to come on after a shaky start to the season.

With Cameron Smith at his best and their combinations starting to flow through Munster, Brodie Croft and Jahrome Hughes, they are looking clinical in attack and ruthless in defence.

Of course, there hasn’t been much wrong with how the Roosters have been playing, but sides need to be at their best to beat the Storm, and the loss of Luke Keary in the halves for a crucial game like this might be the arrow which sinks the Roosters.

If they are going to win, they will need to play the percentages and dominate the middle third, while Cooper Cronk will need to take over the kicking game with a good mix of control and aggression if they are to constantly bombard Melbourne.

Prediction
The Roosters are a little understrength and have enough players coming back from Origin to hurt the way things are playing out for them. Melbourne are really starting to hit top form as well, and I reckon they will trot away with this in the second half.

Storm by 10.
