'P--- the rule off': Kearney fumes after disastrous 9-2 penalty count in loss

New Zealand Warriors coach Stephen Kearney couldn’t hide his frustration after his side’s two-point loss to the Parramatta Eels.

The Warriors conceded nine penalties to two at Bankwest Stadium.

However, the cruellest blow came with just minutes remaining in the match, when Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, who had appeared to have set up a certain try that would have put the Warriors back in the lead, was ruled to have passed the ball forward to Gerard Beale.

Yet replays showed the ball had travelled backwards.

While it was a sour note to finish a thrilling game, Kearney took issue with much of the officiating and was particularly critical of several incidents from the match that involved the strip rule which largely went against the Warriors.
