The Reds and the Rebels go head-to-head at Suncorp in an all-Australian derby. Join The Roar for live scores and a blog from 7:30pm AEDT.

The Reds go into this confident after back-to-back victories over the Sunwolves and the Brumbies. They can stake a real claim for a finals spot with a victory on Saturday.

At the moment the Rebels are second in the Aussie conference with 13 points, while the Reds are fourth with 10 points.

For the Victorian outfit, it has been two defeats on the bounce to the Lions and Sharks. After a bright start to 2019, the Melbourians have hit some bumps.

The spotlight will be on returning banana-benders Quade Cooper and Will Genia coming back to Queensland. The pair were dynamic leading the Reds to their Super Rugby crown in 2011. But a lot has happened since then.

Cooper fell out with Reds coach Brad Thorn last year and will not be short of motivation when returning to his old patch. Sticking it to Thorn would be manna from heaven for the fly-half.

Queensland have made some changes to their tight five with Feo Foutaika out with injury and Taniela Tupou dropping to the bench. They have been replaced by the Smith boys.

The Rebels have made a raft of changes after their disappointing tour of South Africa. Five players come in to make a more formidable line-up.

Genia will start at 9, with Marika Koroibete back on the wing and Adam Coleman at lock. The Rebels have an electric backline, so it is up to their forwards to gain the ascendancy needed to lay a platform for them.

Prediction
The Reds have built a bit of momentum and will be tough to beat at home. Both skipper Samu Kerevi and Tate McDermott are having great seasons and Queensland might just have the edge in the back-row with Scott Higginbotham, Liam Wright and Angus Scott-Young.

Reds to win by 7.
