The second of Saturday’s Test double header takes us to Parramatta for the clash between the Wallabies and Argentina at CommBank Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 7:30pm (AEST).

Both the Wallabies and Argentina were well off the pace in their respective games last week and both Eddie Jones and Michael Cheika have swung the axe with their selections this week.

Eddie Jones has made five changes to the starting side that was punished in Pretoria to bring an attacking edge against the Pumas. Richie Arnold, Jed Holloway, Fraser McReight, Mark Nawaqanitawase and Samu Kerevi are elevated to the starting side. Kerevi’s inclusion outside Quade Cooper should give the Wallabies a more direct attacking threat.

McReight takes the place of Michael Hooper, who injured his calf during the week, but the Wallabies shouldn’t lose anything in that swap.

Michael Cheika has also swung the axe on his Pumas side that were comprehensively outplayed in the first half against the All Blacks in Mendoza. They had a glimmer of hope as they won the second half, but all the damage was done by then.

He has made four changes to his side for this week as he comes up against his Randwick alumni that has had the edge in their coaching encounters over the last seve years.

He has included a debutant on the wing in Rodrigo Isgro and brought back Jeronimo de la Fuente into the centres that should help them.

I always like the match-up of James Slipper and Julian Montoya. Not only are they captains of their respective teams but look very similar in appearance. Whoever can get on the right side of Jaco Peyper early will go a long way to deciding this. The Wallabies discipline last week was poor and continued a worrying trend that plagued Dave Rennie’s tenure.

The blindside matchup of Jed Holloway and Pablo Matera will be another to keep an eye on. Holloway is in for the injured Tom Hooper and Matera’s abrasiveness up against Holloway could well determine who wins the battle at the breakdown.

Prediction

The Wallabies can’t be as poor as they were last week and with several changes giving the side more of an attacking threat, they should win this by 8 points.
