The ACT Brumbies head west as they look to cement a top two finish in Super Rugby Pacific against the Western Force, who are looking to hold on to a spot inside the top 8 in their push for the playoffs. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 10pm (AEST).

ACT Brumbies coach Stephen Larkham has made 12 changes to the starting side that defeated the Highlanders last week with the Wallabies ‘resting’ policy coming into play this week. Most of the team named this faced the Crusaders away and will be better for that run.

Larkham has shuffled his backline around to allow the centre pairing of Tamati Tua and Hudson Creighton to start and sees Ollie Sapsford move to the wing, joining a back three of Andy Muirhead at fullback and the electric Corey Toole as his wing partner.

The Force will have gained a lot of confidence after defeating the Drua in Perth last week and having back-to-back games in Perth can’t be understated for a side who has done their fair share of travel in 2023. They have chosen not to rest Tom Robertson or Folau Fainga’a, who comes up against his former side, in a sign of their intent to claim a playoff position.

Force coach Simon Cron has several experienced players on the bench including Isi Naisarani, Ian Prior and Toni Pulu and that will be a nice matchup against the Brumbies whose bench has been one of their strengths in 2023. The Brumbies have closed out several games, including last week when they eventually got over the Highlanders after a 60-minute arm wrestle and this week include Jesse Mogg and Noah Lolesio to help guide their side over the last 20-25 minutes.

One matchup worth looking out for is the wing battle between Corey Toole and Zach Kibirige. Both players have electric pace and if either are given just an inch of space, they will be leaving defenders in their wake.

Prediction
This looms as a danger game for the Brumbies with a new look starting side. The Western Force are building a fortress and are undefeated at home in 2023 and this could see them snap a 14-match losing streak against the Brumbies that stretches back to the 2013 season. Brumbies by 2.
