Two teams coming off strong winning performances from Round 5 meet in this Friday night Round 6 clash, with Adelaide United, who are yet to win at home, playing host to John Aloisi’s Brisbane Roar. Join The Roar at 7:50pm (AEDT) for live scores and updates.

Adelaide playing host to Brisbane Roar would have been considered a relatively easy, or at least more than likely, win for the home side.

Adelaide have played some outstanding football this campaign, highlighted by thumping wins away against the Mariners and the Phoenix.

The problem for the Reds, though, is that the results away from home have not resulted in similarly strong results at home, where they remain winless.

Marco Kurz will still be expecting a win tonight. With the likes of Isaias Sanchez and Craig Goodwin in red-hot form, the Reds will be primed to break their home duck in tonight’s fixture.

And meaning no disrespect to Brisbane, but the Roar are not the calibre of the likes of Sydney, Perth, though they would fancy themselves against the Jets, all opponents whom Adelaide have face at Coopers Stadium.

Brisbane do not like to travel, having a relatively leaky defence away from home. Nevertheless, Brisbane have a strong record in South Australia, and coming off a strong home win, will like their chances tonight.

They will be heartened by not only scoring goals (with former Socceroo Adam Taggart in a rich vein of form), but also keeping a clean sheet despite the weight of possession that Melbourne City enjoyed.

However, Brisbane won’t have the luxury of their opponent not playing their best goalscorer, so Brisbane will be very much aware to not rest upon their laurels.

Prediction
Adelaide really should have this covered. Not winning at home is a bad statistic to have this deep into the season for a team with ambitions to win the whole thing.

They will want a statement game to get the home monkey off their back. Brisbane are in form, and won’t be easy, but Adelaide should be too good.

Adelaide United 2-1.
