It was a win for the ages for Western United last week, scoring a 95th-minute winner while down to ten men against bitter rivals Melbourne Victory to claim an extraordinary 4-3 win. The men in green are in red-hot scoring touch, netting ten goals in their last three matches and eight in their last two – but they still need to put more wins on the board to get themselves into the top six.
Western Sydney find themselves inside the top six (before the weekend’s play), but are also in need of a turnaround in form having won just one of their last six matches. They looked nowhere near it against Melbourne City on Tuesday night in a 2-0 defeat – their second straight – and will look to put a better effort on the board tonight.
