Better than Beckham? Wayne Rooney's RIDICULOUS goal from beyond halfway
Former Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney has scored a Goal of the Year stunner during D.C. United’s match against Orlando City SC in America’s Major League Soccer.
In the 10th minute, Rooney spotted Orlando’s goalkeeper Brian Rowe off his line and decided to launch an outrageous strike which was estimated to be 60-metres out from goal.
Rooney’s goal was just one of two shots on target for D.C United in the first half.
Rooney’s wonder strike proved to be the winner with D.C United going on to win the game 1-0.
The incredible moment brought back memories of some of the best goals of all time including David Beckham’s famous effort for Manchester United against Wimbledon in 1996.
