'Disgraceful': Mark Rudan and Robbie Fowler clash over post-match snub

Western United piled more pain on Brisbane Roar’s season, claiming a 2-0 win at Suncorp stadium.

But the true battle began after the match, with confusion over the post-match shake of hands between managers leading United coach Mark Rudan to an onfield dispute with Brisbane CEO David Pourre.

Rudan told reporters he went to shake hands with his opposition counterpart after the win but found Fowler had already left the field, which left him unimpressed.

The United boss decided to speak to Pourre over the matter and says he was shocked the CEO “had a crack” at him.

Meanwhile, in his own press conference, Fowler said he left the pitch as Rudan was busy celebrating with his team.

“I’m not going to wait around for him to stop his celebrations and look, if he’s offended by that, then I apologise,” the Liverpool legend said.

However, Fowler then took aim at Rudan, saying he was wrong to confront Pourre, while also criticising his players’ behaviour during the game.
