Hawthorn’s Jarryd Roughead has been put on report for tripping Melbourne’s Dom Tyson.

The big forward had just crunched Jeremy Howe in a tackle that corked the thigh of the Demon.

Moments later, Tyson received a handball near the boundary line inside his defensive 50 and, in attempting to sidestep a charging Roughead, tripped over a stray leg from the Hawk.

In an incident that should split opinion, the contact is clear but the Match Review Panel will have to decide whether Roughead had any intention in tripping Tyson.

Roughead kicked five goals in the Hawks’ 115-65 victory over Melbourne and now leads the race for the Coleman Medal. But the trip on Tyson could put that at risk.

In Round 8, Roughead was suspended for one match after being charged with a Level One rough conduct offence for a high bump on the Sydney Swans’ Ben McGlynn.

Roughead took an early plea over that charge and, along with carry-over points from 2013, took his demerit point’s tally to 164.06.

Is Roughead guilty of tripping Tyson?

If so, how many weeks should he be suspended for?
