Brisbane will have a team in the National Basketball League for the 2015-16 season.

The Queensland capital hasn’t had a team since the Bullets folded at the end of the 2007-08 season.

NBL chief executive Fraser Neill announced at end of the NBL Blitz pre-season tournament that a Brisbane team would return.

The Bullets, who were one of the NBL’s foundation clubs, won three championships between 1985 and 2007 and played in another three grand finals.

Townsville won the pre-season competition played in Brisbane with Cairns second.

New import Mickell Gladness impressed for the Crocodiles, snaring the Ray Borner Medal for tournament MVP.
