NBL chief executive Fraser Neill announced at end of the NBL Blitz pre-season tournament that a Brisbane team would return.
The Bullets, who were one of the NBL’s foundation clubs, won three championships between 1985 and 2007 and played in another three grand finals.
Townsville won the pre-season competition played in Brisbane with Cairns second.
