I agree with you there but statistically, majority had a good season and also they did make the playoffs and played well! They could of easily made the grand final if it wasn’t for a blunder in the first game.
LaMelo Ball buying the Hawks would be the saving grace for Illawarra. From all accounts he loves Illawarra and Wollongong the city so I doubt they will end up moving to Canberra (which I think should have an NBL team but not the Hawks, the Cannons) I think it will give them a bigger budget for them to change the mindset to not just survive but to thrive and compete. Win for all parties.
NBL 2019-20 player ratings: Melbourne United
Yes I would say the unimpressive performances of Gliddon, Te Rangi, Vukona and Braun cost Brisbane a finals berth.
As for Cadee, I personally don’t rate him at all (which I was shocked that he had won an award) but he did win an award and he did increase his numbers which is why ultimately he was rated a 7.
Thanks again for reading! Cairns Taipans today!!
NBL 2019-20 player ratings: Brisbane Bullets
Hey there thank you for your feedback!! Very much appreciated 🙂 Yes I will be covering every team. I have completed them all and will be publishing them every weekday, alphabetically until they are all done!
As for Jerome Randle I do agree that he may have contributed to the off court turmoil that the 36ers faced but I still think he was a better contributor than say a Eric Griffin who was rated a 6.5.
I think I will be covering coaches in a separate article after the Player Ratings are done! Thanks again for reading!
NBL 2019-20 player ratings: Adelaide 36ers
Exactly ! That’s what I’m basing this ladder prediction on. Proven NBL performers. I think that’s the best way to try and judge this upcoming season on.
NBL 2019-20 ladder predictions
Thank you for your comment ! I appreciate the feedback ! I definitely agree with the fact that the Breakers could end up further up the ladder. It was a toss up between Brisbane, Illawarra and New Zealand for 6th, 7th and 8th position. I picked Brisbane 6th based off the fact that Lamar Patterson and Nathan Sobey are proven NBL performers but I’m definitely not confident in those choices.
I’m actually writing another piece about the NBL Next Stars program could actually end up being a negative if Lamelo Ball and RJ Hampton don’t perform and aren’t drafted high in the NBA draft.
NBL 2019-20 ladder predictions
Hopefully one day in the near future that could happen !
NBL 2019-20 ladder predictions
look at it this way, essentially it will be a top 6. which is a 3rd if the competition. Basically, 7th and 8th spot might as well be called a wildcard position also. The top 6 will have a much more greater advantage. It also gives the other teams and their fans a glimmer of hope without it entirely changing the AFL fixture. Yes they are most likely not going to win the premiership. I think the idea can work.
Why the AFL could benefit from wildcard finalists

Why the AFL could benefit from wildcard finalists
I believe the Western Bulldogs won from 7th position in 2016 but I could be wrong
Why the AFL could benefit from wildcard finalists
essentially this wildcard model will give a top 6 as they will have a much greater advantage but it gives 4 other teams a glimmer of hope.
Why the AFL could benefit from wildcard finalists
This model basically puts it back to a top 6 as 7, 8, 9 and 10 will battle it out for a place in the finals.
Why the AFL could benefit from wildcard finalists
The gap between 6th and 14th is 3 games. I don’t think that is a very high difference. Top 4 hasn’t been as much as an advantage because basically all finals teams essentially get a bye. With an addition of the wildcard round 6 teams will have a greater advantage rather than 8 and it will create hope for a lot of the teams that didn’t have it. With expansion potentially on the horizon also its inevitable that this will happen.
Why the AFL could benefit from wildcard finalists
Hey there! From my sources, I believe that at the time it was pretty mutual. Owners and the league were pretty set on the hawks leaving Illawarra. Covid struck and they found that it was best to probably remain secure in Wollongong which is why we saw the backflip from both parties.
