Jarryd Hayne’s manager says his star client has not considered his post-Olympic plans in the wake of the 28-year-old quitting the NFL.

Hayne confirmed on Monday (AEDT) that he would join the Fiji Sevens squad in a bid to play at the Rio Games, but made no mention of his playing future beyond that in the statement released by the San Francisco 49ers.

He has been closely linked with a return to the NRL with the Sydney Roosters for the past six months, while both he and Parramatta claim the former NSW and Australian representative star had signed a lifetime deal with the club on his exit in November 2014.

His manager Wayne Beavis says Hayne has not considered his options post Olympics, or even what he will do if he doesn’t secure a Games berth.

“We haven’t had a chance to talk about Plan B and I’m sure there will be no lack of opportunities for him should be come back to Australia and want to play rugby league again or rugby union,” Beavis told Triple M.

The experienced agent also dodged questions on whether Roosters supremo Nick Politis had made contact since the announcement.

Hayne himself again laughed off the speculation linking him to the club on Twitter on Monday morning.

Responding claims on the Nine Network that he would sign with the Tri-Colours in 2017, Hayne tweeted: “You an (sic) your mates been thinking that for 14 months”.

When prompted further on whether the reports were correct, Hayne replied: “Why don’t you ask your mate @BuzzRothfield said I would do it 6 months ago.”

The NRL-turned-NFL-turned-Olympic hopeful then joked that a stint in the A-League could be his next option given his current run.

When asked by a journalist whether he would then head to another sport or league such as the English Premier League after the Olympics, Hayne tagged the Western Sydney Wanderers and asked if they could do with a six-foot-two striker.

Hayne told Triple M in February that if he ever made a return to the NRL, he would want it to be with the Eels.

“Like I always said, if I ever came back I’d go to Parra if they wanted me,” he said.

“That was always something I said from the start. It’s funny when you see media outlets say I’m doing this and I’m doing that.”
