That we have differing titles for each playing position in the international game of rugby union must surely have attracted the attention of those in a position to decide upon and unify the future new rules for international competition.

Given that the SANZA Super 14 contributes towards this melee, plus its ongoing claim that the IRB is ponderous in it’s decision making, a golden opportunity presents itself right now: to lead by example and unify the positions for Super 14.

Effective immediately!

The media, particularly commentators on both television and radio, would heartily endorse such unification, to say nothing of the 154 nations which play the game.
