What's left now of the once Perfect Storm?

Disappointed players, disappointed administrators, disappointed fans and a disappointed code. This is what the perfect storm has now amounted to, a feeling of disappointment.

The Melbourne Storm have been applauded for so long. They had the best players, the best coaches, and the best administrators. But in a room somewhere in the depths of Princes Park, the cost of being regarded as the best was being hidden.

The paper trail shows that a masterful plan has been executed. A plan that enabled a club to keep its best players through subtle diversion of money from other areas. A plan that bought a club, which constantly registers financial losses, unparalled success.

A plan that made the club the envy of it enemies – both inside and outside of rugby league.

Sadly, this plan has now been uncovered, and now the best will sink to both the bottom of the competition ladder and to the bottom of public opinion. The best players will now play for no more then a ‘well done mate’. The best coaches will coach players that have nothing to gain or achieve by playing.

The perfect storm has hit and now we wait to see what’s been left standing.
