Hey Andrew, Kev: You have the wrong guy

Who is the genius in the AFL bunker who determined that Israel Folau would be able to play at the elite level? Okay he looks the part, so what!

Did anybody in the AFL bother to enquire if he can actually kick?

Oh, another biggy. We all know Issy can run fast over 50 metres, but can he maintain it for four quarters?

I doubt it.

He is very suspect in defence when he has to move laterally, so how will he go in the middle of a field with players all around him?

If the ability to kick a ball properly and accurately and have a high cardio-vascular system is important to an elite AFL footballer then why in the hell is the AFL and the GWS even thinking about paying someone more than Ablett and Judd?

So here’s a memo to Andrew Demetriou and Kevin Sheedy. You have earmarked the wrong guy. Try these two:

Firstly, Billy Slater would be amazing as a midfielder or even as a goal sneak. No one would get to the ball faster and he can run all day.

Secondly, you could get Terry Campese for half the price of Issy and he is the biggest kick in the NRL and very athletic.

Maybe I am the one who has it wrong and on field contribution is not as important as marketing, but then again, Slater is the biggest name in the NRL.
