Is this World Cup a showpiece or a farce?

The World Cup is a showpiece event, and the most watched sporting event in the world. When a country is competing in the finals, the country goes crazy and stops for the game.

The things that have gone on and around this World Cup are staggering, and I suggest that this World Cup could be one of the worst ever watched and played.

The ball? What a waste of time, do I even have to make a comment.

And then there’s the amount of decisions that have gone wrong and changed games: Kewell being red carded for a goal line decision, and Philip Lamm doing the same thing and nothing happening. Brazilian Fabiano hand-balling twice and scoring. Lampard’s goal against Germany

Offside that wasn’t given in the Tevez goal against Mexico

Tim Cahill getting a red card for the tackle against Germany, whereas against Ghana, a worse tackle only saw a yellow card for the Ghanaian.

The amount of fake acting, with diving and hits to the head.

Obviously FIFA runs the game, but can’t implement the rules. The IFFHS is the governing body for the rules.

Why should players and fans watch games that are decided by decisions that are wrong and cause frustration, the world game is being governed like it was in the 80’s.

I hope the final doesn’t turn into a farce where it’s decided by an offside or a red card.
